Hello 6.5G enthusiasts. I'm here to learn, I come from the USPSA world and want to eventually get into PRS. Right now my goal is to build a 6.5G AR on the cheap and take it out to a few competitions. I hope to learn in competitions what the pros are using and then I will build something serious.

Welcome to the clan, sb, from the great nation of Texas! At this moment, it is difficult to build anything bigger thana slingshot on the cheap. I wish you the best in that arena. You will usually get what you pay for so don't let unpredictable results of being on the cheap dissuade you from the Grendel - it is profoundly capable.

Welcome to the Horde. You are brave, living in the great State of Socialist California and advertising that you are going to build an AR! Just the kind of Dude that belongs on this forum! Some have served Uncle Sam in the past and are willing to do it again. You will be handy when the time comes.

This is going to be like my 6th AR build btw  . I've got 3 in 5.56, 1 in .45acp, 1 in .300BLK. This will be my first 6.5G

Go for it. The 6.5 Grendel is a fantastic cartridge. Not the best at anyone thing, but very good at targets and medium game.
