I have heard that these hydraulic buffers sometimes leak and dont hold up well. Any truth to that? Thanks.

Really enjoy my enidine, works great in my Grendel build and has been in there since day one of the rifle. I have not had any issues with it to date.

Gene on the old forum there was a warning about using the rifle length Enidine buffer with the Grendel. AA only sells the carbine model.

Whenever you introduce a new component or change to your gas system, to include the counter-weights we call the bolt carrier, buffer, and recoil spring, check your fired brass one at a time. The problem that may arise with a different buffer system using a staged compression arrangement is that there might not be enough resistance in that first stage of the buffer, which will often lead to early unlocking. This was a common complain among members on the old forum.

The MGI Rate-Reducer and Recoil buffer is a good one to use, due to its weight and reciprocating mass set-up. In a rifle-length extension tube, you need the spacer with it.

Be careful with the Enidine buffers. We have found that the damping rate can adversely effect the speed of bolt unlock, which in turn can adversely effect bolt life. The correct unit for the Grendel is slightly heavier and is differently set up than the 5.56 buffer.

Does Enidine make a buffer specifically for the Grendel. Brownells only shows AR-15 and AR-308 in various lengths dependent on stock length/type. I would appreciate you clarifying (at least to me) your comment.

I'm not Bill Alexander, but the answer is yes, available through Alexander Arms. I've been running one for 2 + years without problems.

Thanks, that was a quick response. I just checked the AA site and the only Enidine Buffer I see is for the carbine length. I have a rifle length stock. Is that one of the items they offer that isn't shown on their site?

Nope, there is no rifle length Enidine for the Grendel. The vast majority of Grendels are carbine length, and the regular rifle buffer works so well that no rifle length has been developed.

And before you ask, the rifle length 5.56 doesn't work, its been responsible for multiple bolt failures. I wonder about using a .308 rifle buffer, but haven't done it.
