9mm Buffer, Yes? NO?? Who knows??

I have read the only thread on which buffer to use and it divolved into a discussion about brakes, so the question really was never answered. I thought that the heavier buffers were the way to go so I got a 9mm buffer as it weighs right at 6.5, and it seems that I read somewhere that 6.4 was pretty close to perfect in the Grendel.
Well, now I've found on AA's site that Bill A. says NOT to use the 9mm buffer. So......which is it? I have also read about the adjustable GB and that seems like a very wise way to go as it gives you much more control over the situation. Especially since I am a reloader, so I've got this going on to.

Really, I suppose there is no way to know until I get it put together and see how it functions. I was just trying to get the "recommended" components and AFTER I read one thing and ordered my stuff, I see something completely the opposite being recommended. AAGGHHH! What's a complete moron to do?

I am just looking for opinions and hypothesis backed up by experience I suppose. Seems that Warped was in on the group that recommended the heavy 9mm buffer and folks seem to hold this persons opinion in high regard. Bwaites is another "heavy" here so I tend to trust his opinion as well.

So.....what say the Grendel Guru's? Heavy metal or no such animal?

I will say this again, it is the same weight as a milspec colt rifle buffer. Ideally 152-155 grams.

If it is more that is not good, it will help to beat the crap out of the bolt and bbl extension.

If it is too light it also presents another set of problems in that it does not allow the rifle to cycle as it should.

This was confirmed through the use of high speed film at an R&D facility at a major defense contractor.

No I did not tell anyone to use the 9mm buffer. I said to use the right buffer which is a H3 at minimum and an H3G is exactly the right weight.

The heavy stainless buffers do not utilize a dead blow effect, the weight merely hits the extension hard creating bounce.

Bill has an H3G, plus he has the prototype that came from.

So please do not tell people I recommended something which I never would have suggested.

Not a problem, it is just that if someone reads a misquote or other faulty info it seems to spread.

Use a H3, H3G or Rifle buffer that weighs 152-155grams
