The three latest Aero Atlas hand guards I mounted, came with barrel shims. Very easy to use, with no modification to the barrel nut. Just add a shim as needed... Shims works with any barrel nut.

Lol, yes some of them do.

Had an issue with timing of one MI nut, MI sent me two other barrel nuts to see if one would index better than the original rather then using a shim. MI is not keen of using barrel nut shims, they are under the impression that the shims can cause loose nuts in extended usage, or something to that matter. I was colored impressed when I saw 2 b-nuts in mailbox a day or two later.
