IF you own a Lewis Machine & Tool Multi Rail Platform (MRP) you can have Grendel too!

I have an LmT Defender 2000 lower and it came with a 6.8 SPC MRP upper. It’s a solid chassis (monolithic upper) and shoots pretty good with 6.8 but that’s not my main caliber - not by a long shot.

I found a company D Wilson Mfg who is doing barrel conversions for around $ 150.

I shipped them a 6.5 Grendel barrel, the upper chassis, and I understand they will turn down the extension to fit the LMT. This is a permanent conversion so you’ll sacrifice the barrel for the cause.

I don’t know seems like a cheap way to get some additional firepower in the system once you buy in for the LMT MRP.

Once I get the barrel and upper back ill go shooting and report back how it does.

You could set up a permanent suppressor/barrel that goes to 16” and not have to worry about it being an SBR.

I've got a 12.5 inch 6.5 Grendel Barrel that I plan on converting.

Still trying to decide between D Wilson and Nefarious Arms. The conversion by D Wilson requires you also send them your LMT Upper, where Nefarious Arms doesn't. I think there are a couple of other differences but can't remember.

Although Dwilsons website says 2-3 week turnaround

I receive the parts back tomorrow after 11 weeks.

So I’m saying pass for now.

As long as it shoots like it did before (not converted) I’ll be happy - I’ll let you know

Update:

I inspected the work done on the barrel conversion , looks clean and precise

I reassembled and have fired and hunted with the rig - I am happy to report zero issues or malfunctions.

I am happy to have a monolithic rail platform 6.5 Grendel in the arsenal!

Same ole grendel mags - there isn’t anything special on the lower of the LMTs

It’s not like LWRC or CMMG proprietary systems

This 6.5 Grendel Monolithic Rail Platform LMT is doing excellent - Load development with 90 grain TNT and AR Comp went VERY well today!
