RAR Predator Destroying my 6.5 Grendel Brass

Hi All,

I've just picked up a RAR predator in 6.5 Grendel which is a fantastically accurate rifle but I am having major issues with it absolutely scratching the crap out of my (expensive) brass. It is scratching so deep it is peeling brass of the case. I have 2 RAR ranches in 556 and 7.62x39 which don't have this issue at all.

I've smoothed out the bolt as much as I can without removing material and it is smooth to the touch but it's like I haven't even done anything according to my brass.

Has anyone had this issue with their RAR? Any ideas on how to fix it. As mentioned, the rifle is a bloody tack driver so mechanically its all good, but 6.5 Grendel is pretty pricey down-under as its a boutique caliber (no AR-15s here) so I need my brass to last!

If the scratches are vertical starting around the shoulder, check the barrel extension by the feed ramps for burrs or sharp machined edges. There are threads on the forum with pics of the gouged cases. https://www.65grendel.com/forum/showthre...ght=gouged

When polishing the extension feed ramps, what do y'all use, regular jeweler's rouge & a Dremel felt buffing wheel ?

Use the green rubberized Dremel polishing bits. They do a wonderful job.

New Magazines feed lips are notorious for length wise scratches on the body on rifle brass. New springs in E-Lander 6.5 Grendel mags are stout until worn in and really scratch up the brass.

Since this is a bolt action rifle narrowing down where it's scratching shouldn't be too adventurous, likely the mags as mentioned by Vascar2. Debur and polish the feed lips should be step one and check for contact on the front edge of the mag.
