New 6.5 owner here, AR platform. Looking for the best hunting round, 1:8 twist on a 22in barrel. I bought some Hornady interlock sp 129gr, not impressed so far. Heard they were made for hunting but not very consistent. Accuracy is important because i want a clean kill. I don't do reloads ATM. Thanks for any info. Hunting ???? mainly deer sometimes help a friend out with Coyotes.

Welcome to the forum Cowboy-Gator. The Hornady 123 grain SST and Hornady 120 grain Fusion factory ammo get good reviews from hunters. The new Barnes 115 TTSX ammo looks promising. The Nosler 129 grain AccuBond Long Range (ABLR) either loaded by Nosler or Precision Firearms get good reviews. Precision Firearms sell several varieties of 6.5 Grendel ammunition.

I suggest you check out the hunting section here on the Grendel forum as there are a lot of hunting reports and game survey from a couple years ago.

Welcome the 120gr PPU HPBTs work. Also the 123gr SSTs or ELDms. For powder try Leverevelotion it has worked awesome for me.
