I made a thread protector and a muzzle brake, I will try them out and see if either one effects the harmonics and use the one that does not, change POI to much

yes correct that's why I made the thread and crown protector, really do not need a brake for the 6.5 for hunting, just made it for the hell of it, on the lathe.

The design of the crown protector should push much of the sound and gas forward

yes but make yourself another and put a crown on it for accuracy

not a bad Idea/my concern is carbon build up thats why I have open ends on both?

Thanks, tested everything out today muzzle brake of course is loud, and move POI about 1 inch low
Thread /crown protector worked just fine
no harmonics change to speak of 100 yard group was under .2 moa

most brakes exhibit a POI change, nature of the beast.

You might not see it at 100yds but at extended ranges it becomes apparent.

Some have noted the one I make actually helps velocity by a minimal amount.

It is due to the nature of gas flow /fluid dynamics and how the air volume is dissipated as the bullet leaves.

It is easier to picture than to explain.

I did everything I could to the WCI to gain as much effect as I could, anything else would have changed that and not for an improvement.

Form really does follow function, I could not even do away with even one hole without a change, you might not see it but the change would be occurring.

BTW you did a fine job, a little velocity caused it to go low.
