Nikon makes quality optics. Maybe this could work for you? https://www.natchezss.com/nikon-prostaff...matte.html
Take a look around the site and you may find something that will work for you.

Plenty of extended range on farms and stations. Drive in a straight line for a couple of days and you are in the middle of nowhere.
Ya I recognize one of those..lol
Thats what sux, no civilian ranges around to stretch it out..
Ive always wanted to co build a killer range with steel and lots of range..

Well I made sure my scope was completely leveled with the rifle to check the squareness of the reticle with a plumb knob and it's dead nutz on. Now the only thing I'll have to worry about is the tracking and how close itll be at range. If itll track right it's a keeper. I would really like to be able to dual in the yardage instead of using holdovers.

That's why I checked it. I did read his review and that's exactly why I've been thinking on sending it back if it wasn't up to snuff. If everything works like its supposed to I guess I'll keep it but if not I'll need a plan B which is why I posted this thread.

Bullseye,
The trouble with scopes is you don't always know if everything is working like it should. Scope precision is the most underrated reason why bullets go where they go. When things go wrong shooters often blame the wind, the ammo and of course themselves, but rarely the scope.
You can do Tall Target tracking and plum line tests till the cows come home but when the zero shifts ever so slightly every time that gun recoils you will never know by how much. This is called repeatability and it is rarely discussed; probably because it is so hard to discern from all the other reasons bullets print on the target, and there's nothing you can do about it anyway. You might have an idea after a while but it will just be a general sense of how good the whole gun is. Unless you have two scopes and swap them over in the same conditions you will never know. Repeatability is not something that is externally evident and no manufacturer lists this on their spec sheets. For the avoidance of doubt, repeatability is not tracking. ALL scopes shift zero every time they kick, but some do it more than others.
If you just want a plinker then sure, spend as much as a night out on a scope. But if you want the gun to shoot better than you can you have to accept that you get what you pay for.

Tri Cities in Richland Wa.
Douglas Ridge which is about twenty or thirty miles east of Portland.
There are a couple of more private shooting areas east of Spokane but you will have to search for them.

I completely agree with this. My deal is that I'm not going to be out shooting at medium or long range very often, this is going to be used as hunting rifle primarily and goofing off with my buddies shooting it out at medium range. Right now the furthest I could shoot is about 450 yards where we currently shoot. This isn't meant to be a serious long range rifle it's a hunting rifle. The places I hunt here in Oklahoma are fairly wooded and even a 100 yard shot would be very unlikely but if the opportunity came up for some longer range hunting I'd like to try it out. I know that this is at the bottom end of the scope spectrum but it might just work for what I need and if it doesn't then it'll be replaced.
