I find it curious that during the current riots that there are very few reports of citizens using their 2A rights to protect themselves or their property from rioters. Even the police seem to be standing by letting it happen, likely at orders from the mayor/governor
Question one. Preferred method of stopping rioters when the police are absent?
Question two. tips, advise, techniques when rioters are headed your way?
Question three. What preparations to take?

No worries for me (yet) just curios what the collective wisdom of the Horde is in our current situation.

I live in Florida, in a rural area.I’m not gonna play the let’s pretend game,Because I know protesters would never go to my neighborhood.Therefore there would be no chance of looting Or rioting around here. Anyone who came into my neighborhood to loot and riot would met with firepower.

I am fairly certain the ATF didn't just contact folks in 'liberal states' because I know they contacted one of my dealers in Dallas. I am sure they contacted, as the article said, those FFLs in locations that match certain metrics and other criteria, such as places with riots and large populations, regardless of the political leanings as of the last election.

I have always subscribed to the non-agression principle. I expect the same from family members. Having said that and understanding the seriousness of how messed up a large segment of society is today, the 2nd is more important than ever.
I am probably preaching to the choir here. I'm not built to cut and run in defending friends, family and property. Fortunately, I live over 4 hours from any major cities and most people here are like minded. I expect things to get much worse and am prepared should the worst case arise. If leaders don't get things under control, I don't know how I can depend on anyone but fellow like minded gun owners.
Good luck to you all living in metro areas or their burbs. I am willing to help others anyway I can and have no qualms about doing so.
Meantime, I am praying the insanity subsides and leaving next week for what could well be my last fishing trip for sometime.

My concern is that a far leftist, some unhinged extremist, an agent of a terror network etc. will fire on protesters and that will be used as a reason to disarm responsible gun owners.

At my location there is less than a one percent chance of riot or looter threat. I can only control the property I own and live on. My family and I stay ready. The high awareness level is needed when we go out in public and that’s where the percent of threat jumps up. I try to avoid problem areas and problems but am aware of my surroundings wherever I go. Current events this year have an impact on the 2A so I try to follow them closely. Thanks to all for posting up here

I’m thinking the Castle doctrine is good in all 50 states.If someone breaks into your home and you feel your life is threatened,you are allowed to use deadly force. The way I see it ,if someone breaks into my house knowing I’m home, they probably are up to kill me. So, they will take 30 from my suppressed blackout .
I’ve heard of folks in Louisiana and Texas shooting through the windshield of their truck to kill someone stealing it. And they got away with it!That would not fly here in Florida.Here, you certainly can’t shoot someone because they are in your yard.The stand your ground law doesn’t protect Floridians like it used to.
