I have multiple Faxon Barrels in weapon systems. I did a 16 inch Grendel that works good and just ordered a 18 inch Grendel Faxon Flutted Barrel for a new build. Both ordered direct from Faxon with bolt and headspace checked by them. These are for when SHTF and I need 120-130 grains of freedom.
I do put a good amount of rounds through weapon systems I have. Posting this up for anyone interested in purchasing Faxon products.
My 12 faxon shoots damn good for how I have it set up. Leupold pig plex reticle isnt ideal for groups but works well for hunting. Regardless, it does 1 moa at 200 yds.
Knowing everthing isnt as important as knowing where to find it.
Had a 20" group buy that had to take a trip back to faxon for a nitride issue but shot well, it was replaced with a fluted match 20" that shot well also. Decided on letting it go as my current situation didn't allow me to use it as it should and I found myself going to my 16" for most activities.

I have an 18" Fax with a Geissele trigger and a Magpul PRS stock and a Gemtech can. set up for coyote and wolf hunting. Shoots 5 into .75" with 99 gr. Hammer hunters. Shoots most loads, Horn. black & AMG at moa or so. Very happy with it, was my second 6.5 gr. always have it with me.
I have 2 20" Faxons, a gunner profile & Heavy fluted match. The one thing I did on both is a quick flex-honing of their chambers as the nitriding process leaves them a bit frosty; not enough to cause functional issues but more than I like to see.
That said, the heavy fluted match shoots extremely well, especially with Hornady Black & Wolf Gold. I used the gunner profile on my hunting rifle and have only run 123gr. SST; which shoots very well.
I know break in is a varied topic with rifle shooters; but I break in all my new barrels regardless of make, using the Kreiger break in procedure.
I've found that the Faxons don't shoot wolf steel case well, & based on conversations with Bill Alexander it appears to be the thick/heavy jacket not jiving with the 5R rifling. I have an inexpensive Hardened Arms 20" barrel with standard cut rifling that runs the wolf surprisingly well. [ATTACH=CONFIG]16230[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]16231[/ATTACH]
PNWTargets, I have a group buy Faxon barrel that is my primary hog rifle even though I have another in same length with a 20" Bartlein. They seem to shoot about the same as near as I can tell accuracy wise. The group buy barrel just seems to balance better as I built it. Don't know if you will count the Group buy barrel as a Faxon in your quest for info but I consider it the best money I have ever spent on an AR barrel. Hope you find some use for this info.
My first Grendel was built on a Faxon barrel (group buy). It is consistently MOA or better with factory loads. It shoots the SSTs extremely well and holds about 1.5 MOA @100 with Wolf steel.
Today, I shot my two Faxon gunner 5.56's for the first time. For just something to send lead down range in a hurry, they performed well with several tight groups.
