Prayers for a smooth surgery and speedy recovery. Do what the Dr.'s tell you an remember to hug that pillow or bear or what ever you get when getting up or a lot of movements, they will instruct you on that.
2 years this month since I had bypass surgery then 3 weeks later defib installed. It takes some recovery and rehab but it is worth it.

Like kmon said, do everything the docs tell you to. The pillow will be your best friend for the first few weeks afterward. I should know - I had my 3x at about the same time as kmon. Prayers and well wishes!

Overall I am doing well. I still have some pain in the chest where they split me open and my leg is somewhat numb from where the vein was removed. I walk 4 times a week and go to cardio therapy 3 times a week.
I thought about selling my weapons back to the government, but after a thorough background check it was determined that the buyer has a long history of violence and is mentally unstable. Therefore could not pass NICS.

Overall, I am glad to hear it, Greybuff.
It gets better, friend. The cardio rehab was what I enjoyed the most, simply because I knew I was improving. Stay the course, and best of luck.
