U P D A T E : These MONSTER Ultra-Lite three-prong flash suppressors go to nitriding tomorrow.

Three days in the mail to nitriding. Seven days in nitriding. Three days back to me. Let's call it two weeks until availability.

Thought I would weigh it: 1.6 ounces.

For comparison, a 5/8-24 A2 flash hider weighs 1.8 ounces (1/2-28 A2 weighs 1.9 oz).

LIGHTER than an A2 and three times as effective!

Interestingly, a MONSTER bolt weighs 1.5 ounces. So, almost same weight as a bolt!

Our MONSTER UltraLite Three-Prong Flash Suppressor is lighter than a standard mil-spec A2 flash suppressor (1.6 vs 1.8 oz — for reference a bolt is 1.5 oz) and is much, much more effective.

Slim diameter of 0.740 allows installation of gas block even when flash suppressor is permanently installed. Installs via hand tightening or a tool — when care is taken to not mar the finish. A drop of Loctite or similar compound may be used for a semi-permanent installation. Crush washer may also be used to time the orientation of the prongs, although with minimal flash overall it is not necessary. Crush washer not included.

Reduced flash prevents visual dazzle when employing one's weapon in low-light hunting and tactical situations and also reduces tell-tale flash signature. In test after test, three-prong flash hiders consistently outperform all other designs.

Black nitride finish for all-weather durability. Fits 5/8-24 muzzle threads. Diameter: 0.740. Length: 2.25. Weight: 1.6 oz.

mine came in. Looks very good. well well machined. nitride finish is very even everywhere on the FS. threaded right up no problem. i took your advice. cleaned threads both barrel muzzle and FS. drop of blue loctite. hand tightened. looks so much better than swirly bird cage thingy that i took off.

Or Advanced Armament Corp (AAC) has a tool if one wants to get fancy.

Somebody has to make a cheaper version of this tool. It's just too simple not to make and sell for a few bucks. It's not like a knockoff wouldn't work just as well. Could even be made of some kind of reinforced plastic.


Speaking of AAC.... I installed my Monster FH using one of their shims to time it, just for fun. The "green" shim, 0.012" thick, happened to be perfect to get my FH set with a slot at 12 o'clock, seen in my pic above. I know that flash suppressors are agnostic to barrel orientation, but there's something to be said for symmetry.
