After months of dilemma and research I finally pulled the trigger on a Grendel upper Receiver build.
My hold up was not wanting to get another caliber to reload, but I kept coming back to the Grendel puts 5.56 to shame in every test I ever saw.
This build is a light weight hunting/ shtf rifle. I was looking for a light gun that can be packed in on a pack horse to various locations mainly hunting small Couse deer type game
Yesterday I ordered an Aero Precision upper and a ToolCraft 6.5 BCG, researching barrels for it now.

I ordered all the components to build a new Grendel upper the past couple of days. I ordered a Criterion barrel after doing a good amount of research. This barrel with headspaced bolt....

Congrats Guys!!! The Grendel really is a "do all" cartridge for the AR15. Red*Lion, that Criterion should be a shooter! I'm currently waiting on a Bartlein barrel, but I have another upper to use in the mean time.

Why wont they list the weight?!? N/A , not applicable, BS is certainly is.

I suspect Criterion web person hasnt updated the description but Brownells appear to sell the same barrel. Someone asked Brownells for the weight in Q&A, answer 2 pounds 1.8 ounces.

I have the Criterion 22 Hbar Grendel barrel. It weighs around 2 1/2 pounds. Still Light enough for me to carry in the field. And its a shooter! That 18 inch hybrid ought to be a shooter as well.

Once you go 6.5 you never go back. LOL I just never could swallow the .22 caliber. Built what I consider to be the perfect defense weapon in a 6.5 AR carbine. Kicks a 5.56's ass so hard it is pathetic. Getting more affordable ammo now: PPU 100 and 120 gr., Hornaday 123 gr. Frontier, Wolf for plinking.

I agree it KA over the 5.56, looks like a hammer when hitting steel. So many decisions now lol.
I reload so looking forward to getting started doing that as well, figure ill use the 223 for competition for now so its not sitting

They do list the weight, but it's down at the bottom. Weird, I know, to have "WEIGHT" in two places. Anyway...
18" Mid-length 2.20lbs.
18" Rifle 2.25lbs.
