Cleaning rods for the Grendel

Are there rods in between.22 and .30 cal. appropriate for the 6.5 ?

I have both Dewey and Tipton 22C 36” cleaning rods I use to clean my Grendel barrels.22C works fine.

I'm with FL on this. I use a couple of 36" .22 Dewey rods with 1.75" square patches and dedicated 6.5 brass brushes.

Own both,I prefer the Dewey because they are stainless steel and won’t break. Anyone who has broken a Tipton fiberglass rod trying to push through a tight patch knows what I mean. But there are advantages to both.A Dewey rod can bend. A Tipton rod is either straight or broke.

BoreTech makes a 6mm CF rod specific for 6.5. I bought one because it is one of the few rods offered in lengths long enough for a 30" barrel. With that said, there is no reason to buy the BoreTech over a .22 Dewey for a normal length Grendel barrel. If the Dewey isn't strong enough you're doing something very wrong.

When you mention CF, do you mean Carbon Fiber or Centerfire ?
Their website doesn’t mention Carbon Fiber rods.

I was under the impression the rods were coated carbon. I went and looked again and there is no mention on Boretech's site. Amazon states coated spring steel, I don't know if that is true or not either. However they're made, the BoreTech rods are nice enough. Personally I prefer the Dewey handles but it doesn't matter all that much.
