working up a load for ppv and 107g tmk's

my 107 tmks get tommorow so im going to start working up a load for these tommorow. i think my starting point is going to be 29.3g of ppv which out of my gun should get me near 2675fps since my gun seems to shoot a bit faster then the load data ive been using , as usual cci 400 primers hornaday brass, my best guess is ill get to about 30.2g of ppv before i see presure signs based on were ive been able to get with other various ppv loads vs published max
looking forward to see how these do at 800-1100 yards compared to the 123g eld-m ive been shooting

i really wanted to try out some tac but as accurate as my 90g and 123g loads have been with ppv its to hard to move away from ppv right now ill just have to adjust my loads this summer when it gets above 80*

works got me busy af right now but hoping to get out and shoot the first loads/rounds this sat if it doesnt rain or if not then then sunday
ive loaded up 3 of each at 29.3 29.5 29.7 30.1 and 30.3 g of ppv loaded to a lenght of 2.255 to put on paper and chrono

Theese rock at 100y still got shoot the 30.3g loads but it started raining


minus me not doing my part behind the rifle on 2/3 of those theese dont seem to car how much powder is under them , so just going to keep working the powder charge up to see were my max is and then back down a lil bit
i didnt bother to chrono anything today or use individual targets just didnt have the time , on the next few loads ill go back to my normal routine of chrono / new targets and 5 round groups

also cant wait to see what theese do out of my 6.5 cm

ty , theese are shooting good , but i dont think ill use them on varmints , not when ive been doing real good with the 90g tnt's , for the cost i still prefer the 123g elds for a target load , i need to dial in this load and then do some lr shooting back to back with both theese and the 123's to see how they compare
though im curious about trying out some 130g bullets for a a new target load


im still seriously considering selling my upper so i can build a 16 inch hunting rig , and my 28inch target build , but at the same time this thing shoots so well its a hard choice

If you're thinking about shortening your herd, I'd like to suggest you look at a pistol build. I have found that aside from a bit more elevation, 800 is still within reach, and 400 on whitetails isn't out of the question. I gotta say, I was originally envisioning a truck/pack build for my 12.7, and that's what I built. Used everything, "cheap, but still usable" was the mantra... I've since graduated to a "full quality" build list for my next 12.5 (Criterion/Bartlein/Krieger/Lilja still undecided...) from PF/BCM. The 12.7 has put the LaRue in the safe. That, to me says enough. I won't be selling the truck setup for it, either. It will remain in the box under the back seat, full of Wolf.

I'm interested in PPV, but will go through my current stock of 2460 first. PPV sure looks good on paper, and you seem to be proving it. I'm interested in your velocity results with the 107s.

just guessing and ill know this week for sure when the foot of snow we got last night melts , but im guessing ill be in the neighborhood of 2700 fps with the 107's by the time im done , with the 90's i can push them to 3150 but ive backed them down to 3050fps the bc difference on the 90 and 107s is huge , i just have a hard time shooting at critters with a bullet that wasnt designed for it

im loving the ppv so far i just need to see what it does once summer gets here it can get as high as 102* here

if i do sell thsi 20 inch upper or barrel the reason i said 16inch build is cause its the shortest barrel wilson offers , if i do another build just for hunting it will be another wilson barrel nothing stopping me from putting it in the lathe and chopping it down though

having a bad shooting day got some parts cleaning solvents in my eye over the weekend washing transmission parts got my eye a lil screwed up

the wierd thing is my gr loves tipped bullets , on the other hand my creedmoor does better with the untipped bullets im still breaking in the cm barrel though
