Sierra 107 smk vs 107 tmk is one preferred for the grendel?

BC's listed on Sierra's website implies different ogive shape

Wanting to place order and possibly throw some light-midweight bullets into the mix of reloading

I’ve worked up a load with the non tipped 107s.

2.3 fits in my Howa mag.

I’ve shot many, many of the 107 SMK’ they shoot lights out out of both my barrels

Can’t imagine the TMK’s flying any better, so I’ve not tried them.....in any of the calibers that I shoot the SMK’s in.

I had a box of 500 kept Sierra matchKing.The tipped matchkings will have a better ballistic coefficient because of the shape.But I did not notice much of a difference in performance,even at longer distances.Both shoot accurately. And for the difference in price I’d stick with regular matchking.

The biggest advantage of the tipped match king to me is if I wanted to shoot a varmint. The 107 SMK shows erratic performance if used on critters. The Tipped Match King should deliver a little more consistent performance on critters. I wouldn’t use the TMK on anything but varmints because there are better bullets for hunting.

I think DNS tested the 107 TMK on hogs IIRC but all I have ever shot was the SMK.
