Yucca plants and flatlands in the background made me think West Texas or Mojave Desert, but I guess it goes that far into Texas as well.

Is that visible hole the entrance or exit, just above his left shoulder?

That's my backpack. I used that small mesquite tree as a rifle rest.

There are plenty of holes on that hill though. I killed a 4' rattler about 20 minutes after I killed the yote.
