Oregunsmithing Offering Howa Mini Bottom Metal (Hinged Floorplate)

I got an email reply and had the pleasure of talking to Wayne York for a good while today. He has a prototype made that functions flawlessly with the 6.5 Grendel Howa Mini. It will be a DIY install that fits the factory bottom metal inlet. He mentioned it was a fun challenge converting it from a single feed DBM to a staggered feed internal magazine. They will be made entirely of aluminum and cerakoated to the buyers choice of in-stock colors. Full production will start soon. He's open to the idea of a group buy and can even etch the Grendel Monster onto the floorplate if someone can send him the template and he's able to get it programmed. While he's trying to keep the price around $150, it will not exceed $200. He does intend to make them for a number of cartridges even his custom 24 and 25 Yorks which are based on the 6.8 SPC case.

What other questions/thoughts do you all have? Now is the time to provide input for final tweaks.

Who do I talk to about a group buy and the Grendel Monster template??

Sounds good to me, might be interested in one myself. Not a big fan of the magazine or the release but the rifle as a whole is much better than the Ruger. As it was mentioned, leave the AR mags in the AR.

I want to say yes. The inlet for the bottom plastic should all be the same from each manufacturer, although minor inletting/fitting may be required.

Here are the pictures of the prototype before the final surface finishing. They can be cerakoated in any in-stock color and etched with the Grendel Monster once I receive approval to share the image. The followers are still in the development phase as there are a number of different factory and wildcat cartridges that the Mini can be chambered.

Good question, but I think we need to answer the "when" first. BFT has given permission to post it in the Group Buy section but Wayne needs a bit more time to get the followers designed and into mass production.
