His bottom metal is what I used on my howa grendel I had, same quality are better then dips and a better price.

Dips mag release works on his bottom metal as well.

I've built four rifles on the Mini actions, and figured I was pretty well finished when an old customer asked me to watch for a good deal on a Mini with the Grendel/7.62x39 boltface so I could build him a rifle in 6PPC on one. Every once in awhile, LSI will run a special sale on complete rifles, and that's what happened several months ago, when they offered 6.5 Grendels with the HTI stock & Nikko Sterling 4.5-14 scope for less than Brownells was selling just the bbl'd action for. I snapped up two of them, then ordered a couple of HokeyPokeyKid's DBMs for these rifles. I'd bought DIP DBMs for the other four Minis before he made his DBMs available, or I'd have tried at least one of his on one of them. All I can say is that I'm darned glad I had an excuse to try these Jefferson Outdoors DBMs - not only did I get super-quick shipping, but these were priced under what DIPs DBMs are, and are at least a little nicer than the DIPs in my opinion.

LSI advertises to ffl dealers who have an account with them. I don't really know whether they also advertise to the general public in shooting magazines & etc. or not.

Got mine today, 4/6. Truly a drop in, perfect-fit job. The flush internal mag really “makes” the Howa mini. Not cheap, but well worth it in my opinion. A happy day saying g’bye to the sub-standard mag system on the as-delivered rifle. Howa should be ashamed of themselves.

"Howa should be ashamed of themselves." Like Grandpa always said: "You get what you pay for!" Remember the Howa MSRP compared to it's competition? I wouldn't trade my Mini 1500 for anything else out there. P.S. I am a Grandpa.

One ting I have noticed about the Jefferson flush bottom metal: If you load from the top, after the first round is inserted there is a real tendency for subsequent rounds to slip to the left and fill the bolt channel. Once there the pressure from the first round (in the magazine already) will hold it there and you’ll need something like half a clothespin to get it out. So far the best way to load the mag is to drop the Oberndorff bottom plate and drop them in from there.

If it slips to the left, just push straight down on the cartridge, it should realign and go right in to place.

At first I was having the same issue but I learned that downward pressure pushes the bottom cartridge down and the one on top follows it in.

That's disappointing, I really thought I had that issue sorted in the final feed-lip revision.

I have a low-mounted ‘scope and that doesn’t give me much overhead straight-down leverage.
