Ruger Predator magazine release. how is it designed? how does it actuate?

to those of you with a Ruger Predator that takes grendel AR mags, how did Ruger design and implement the magazine release? does it capture the AR mag with the same cutout on the left side of the magazine box that a standard AR uses? is the mag release somewhat similar to how an AR mag release works? any mag related functional issues with your Ruger Predator? kind of curious how Ruger did the AR mag release.

Mine does not drop free when you hit the release. Might not be a bad thing for a hunting rifle.

Are you using the C mag that came with it?
I’m using an ASC mag and it drops freely.
