Color me unimpressed. They accomplished the scope clearance fix, but the handle is way too long. And at $80 for the standard handle/knob (other knobs will be another $20), I'm thinking I'll pass.

I guess I'll have to roll my own.

Yeah. It needs to be about an inch shorter with a tear-drop handle. Maybe I could buy one and modify it myself, but $80 is a pretty big leap.

Yah, not as pretty as I hand hoped for. I think I'll wait a little bit to see what the other knobs look like. Still.... it's more functional the the factory handle. I'll probaby end up with one.

I wasn't really interested in it being a lot longer than the factory one. I was just looking forward to it being reshaped and having an option for knobs. I appreciate the aftermarket support for the CZ 527, so I'll probably buy one and see if I can mod it, but it's still a bit steep for a bolt handle.

I can buy any number of bolt handles for my Savage rifles with all sorts of options for knobs, and all a LOT less than $80.

I have never replaced a bolt handle. Is there much to it, any welding or such or just snapping a part in?

On CZs and Savages, it's easy. On Remington rifles it is a project for a gunsmith.

Here an info I wanted to know for a long time. What is the weight of the CZ 527 .223 action. Well I got it from CZ-USA via Facebook. Here a copy and paste... Finally!

Around 1lb 13oz for the action w/ no barrel and no magazine.

I just ordered a CRT bolt handle about an hour ago. I finally broke down and did it. I am going to see how it feels in real life, and if I don't like it, I'll mod it a bit to suit my needs.

That opens it up to use any height rings and gives a bit of flexibility on mounting positions.

I got the CRT bolt handle yesterday. I haven't put it on a rifle yet, but, I like the feel of the handle, I'm still not sure of the length and I'm not a fan of the round knob. I'll have to see if my Dad can make me a tear-drop knob for it, then I'll see if I want to shorten the handle.

I have one of the CZ527 conversions from Brockman's, got it in 2005 or 2006. My German Shorthair Pointer is named Grendel, so I had to get a rifle in that cartridge. It has a 19" Lothar Walther barrel that is bedded and free floated, trigger set to about 2.5 pounds, and wears a Burris 2x-7x compact scope in CZ rings. That scope does not have a big ocular lens, so the factory bolt handle is no issue...

Am from NC, just happen to live in western NJ. I think I was the old forum as johnnyreb, or maybe mauser9362...

The sad thing is that out of the two boxes of factory 120 grain BTs bought shortly after I got the rifle, I have six cartridges left, and have yet to reload any of them. The seventh one was used to take a doe in northern NY at about 15 yards. I do have two bags of unfired brass, Redding dies, a pound of BLC2, CCI450 primers, and some more BTs, so I plan on reloading and shooting my Grendel a lot more this summer...
