pistol caliber questions

after i finish my grendel i was thinking of a .45acp ar pistol

anyone have any input? sources?

thinking of grease gun mag versions

as to why? why not?

I’ve seen 9mm and 45 amp AR15 pistols at the gun club.I am not interested in having an AR15 pistol let alone in 45acp.But,if I did,a place to start looking for parts is Palmetto State Armory .I have seen 45acp mag well converters,45acp uppers and BCGs on PSA.They have even had 45acp lowers.

Rudy at Macon Armory out of GA makes both DI 45's and blow back, not PSA pricing but his run. Also does other calibers like 10mm.

Unfamiliar with centrefire handgun in an AR but have worked with different types of SMGs. Anything other than blowback seems to be more accurate, all other things being equal. Blowback is a big, heavy block slamming against the action at the critical point which is when the gun goes off. It knocks the gun off aim and down. With DI it's just the hammer so you will be able to take carefully aimed shots.

Take a look at Foxtrot Mike (fmproducts.com). He has 9mm and 45 in all configurations. Fair prices, too. I'm building a 7" 9mm pcc. Good, cheap shooting fun!!!

Foxtrot Mike makes good stuff. These guns fire from a closed bolt. NOT from an open bolt. The bolt doesn't slam forward when you pull the trigger like an open bolt sub gun.
