I also bought a few bca uppers in the past and just recently.. First was a 16" 450 bushmaster, wanted to try it on deer and for 200 bucks it was great. After time it had extraction issues due to a bad extractor, no biggie and a cheap $20 fix and it did shoot sub moa from day one. Sold it 2 months ago and gambled again on a new 18" upper with mid length gas system shipped to my door for $235. First 3 shots the gas tube roll pin let go but just a $1 part and fixed. This one shoots great! Im getting 1/2" ragged hole 3 shot groups @100y, I really dont care what a 5 shot group will do because this is a dedicated hunting upper but I would bet my paycheck on it that it will do just fine. Bca may not be the Lamborghini of uppers but for someone who wants to test the waters on a new caliber or just simply cant Afford a Lamborghini then this is the answer. Bca barrels are a gamble in 6.5 grendel but im 2 for 2 with the 450. I also know 5 other people who are running the same bca 450 uppers and they shoot sub moa too.

I am sure some of their barrels do fit a niche and some actually turn out to be good barrels. BUT, the time and care I put into loading a precision round I don't want to waste on a low end barrel. If it even shoots at all. YMMV
I’m watching for the Black Friday coupons from BCA and PSA.I am wanting to build an AR308 tack driver for the 600yrds range.I May start w/a complete rifle if I get a big enough discount.And then I can order a custom barrel.Both companies have great receivers and handguards.Can’t beat that price.
Last year when I bought a BCA and got three bad uppers in a row with bad very short chambers, they had over 10 models of Grendel complete uppers. Maybe they have been working on their QA, I looked online and they are down to only 3 models.
Yeah, maybe you will get a sub MOA barrel.. for a few hundred rounds before it starts to open up. BCA, and a few others, are the Dollar Store quality of the AR world.

And I don’t disagree with you a bit.But,Dollar stores fill a niche.
I have acquaintances that I shoot with at the club that are on fixed incomes.So.if it wasn’t for BCA,they could not afford different cal uppers.And most of those guys only shoot out to 100,maybe 200 yrds.So,having a barrel that doesn’t do sub moa isn’t an issue like it is for us.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I own 5 of BCA barrels. They all are sub MOA (0.75) out to 400yds. I have a 7.62x39 barrel that shoots fantastic. I had no clue the cartridge was capable of that kind of accuracy. I will add that is with hand loads.
I own 16, 18, 20 and 24 inch 6.5 Grendel BCA barrels that all 4 shoot lights out.
Now I build my own so I can't speak for their complete uppers, but I have no issue at all their barrels. I do also own two of their right side charge uppers but I true all my uppers and bed all my barrels.
When hand loading I stay with the relm of bullets that the Grendel was designed for too. Nothing over 123gr. and none of the 5 barrels have any issue with Hornady SST bullets, even the 7.62x39.
So any way I will leave you haters to your bashing of BCA.
..I will go back to shooting deer, hogs and tiny groups with their barrels knowing I spent less on 5 barrel than many of these characters did for one barrel!
Wish i could post pics. I took the old 20" 6.5 grendel bca upper I've had for a year out to the range this weekend. It has shot around 1"-1-1/2" groups its whole life, decided to try some light 100g hornady bullets pushed by benchmark and cci 450 primers. Only tried 5 rounds but came up with a 5/8" group minus the 1st round out of an oily barrel. So 4 rounds into a 5/8" group at 100 yards. It has promise for sure.. Seems you only hear the negatives on bca..
I ordered a 16-in 6.5 Grendel BCA barrel from a reseller. Before assembly, I looked it over. I could barely see light down the bore. I spent two hours cleaning the gunk out of the barrel and finally could see a dull shine on the bore. When I shined a light down the bore, I saw criss-cossing tool marks along with the rifling. At that point, I contacted the reseller, who put me in contact with BCA for resolution. After considering their offer of resolution, I wrote back that I didn't feel I could trust my firearm or my health to their products. I let them keep my money and wrote it off to the cost of tuition. By the way, it is likely that their '100% inspection' process involves only looking at the exterior of their barrels. Buyer beware; these people do not care about your safety.

My cost in tuition was about $200 in factory ammo, $100 in gas and about 4 months of time of waiting for 3 warranty replacements(very long warranty back logs, I wonder why). While in the end I got my money back it did cost me $300 in tuition for a $250 upper. This website is very helpful to giving feedback on product quality, if I would have done better research before buying I would have save myself $300. There were two other people with 3 returns(BCA never fixed their problem, they got a refund), with many scores of people who was smart and wrote if off and took the loss by simply replacing the barrel with another company.
It is not worth the chance of losing a hand or your sight using products that are not properly tested. Here is my range result showing dangerous extreme pressured signed using factory Hornady ammo.

LMAO! You buy from a reseller who wont take it back, thats a red flag for sure. I know for a fact bca would replace the barrel and work with you but you tell them to keep your money and you will just keep the barrel? Then you deem it unsafe?? I call total b.s. on this!! How is it unsafe if you never put a round through it? Do you have evidence that bca does not care about it's customers safety?

I will confirm MSRAddict post.
My second upper (warranty replacement) could not eject a live round. While ejecting a live factory round the bullet came off firmly lodge in the lands and had to be pounded out with a rod.
My third upper (warranty replacement) could eject a live round with difficultly(it was sticking). When firing dangerous extreme pressured signed.

BCA fan boys are a hoot.
But you do usually only hear about the bad of a product while on the net, however, when there is SO MUCH bad posted about a product you just don't see it as a fluke rather as their common business practice.
I am afraid that there are many more that have not been identified as bad by trigger pullers that neither care about their group sizes or pick up their empties to see what their rifles are doing!! If it goes bang it is good enough for them!
I had 3 and their poor performance was enough for me. To the tomato stake garden, then...
I could care less about how risky someone else wants to be with their face, eyes, hands, etc.
Maybe someday bca will clean up their act........ Maybe. But I'm not waiting around for them.
