scope recamendation

Looking for a 16+ power mil-dot scope (yes I know how to use a mil-dot). Night force is not in the budget, looking to spend $600ish. Any opinions?

I have several Nikon Monarch scopes. They are great scopes. I have a 4-16x42 SF with target dot reticle, but the model 8423 is the same scope in a Mildot Reticle. I would guess that it has the same great qualities as mine. Consider it as a candidate. On another rifle, I have a Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x40 with a Multi-X reticle. They are a Bausch & Lomb design. It also has very nice glass and shoots an excellent box. It is also available in a Mildot reticle. I would recommend either of these scopes.

Hawke Optics produces some very nice scopes, under $600.00 VERY CLEAR!! equal to a Leupold in clarity and have a 1/2 mil-dot bar reticle. BRC software is quite usefull! http://www.hawkeoptics.com/rifle-scopes/...er-30.html

Vortex PST might be a little over your target price, but it's what I would be looking at for a good value.

You can often find the PST 4-16 for sale in the price range you want, especially sfp.

I just got my vortex viper 6.5x20x44 in the mail today. Unfortunately it was dark when I got home. I hope to compare it to my Zeiss conquest and my friends leupold vxiii at same mag level and view a 600 yard target to see which is clearest soon. Will keep ya posted. This viper is not the pst though it's a lil cheaper.
