What Magpul stock is that? I too have a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Grendel and I want a different stock.

It's called the Magpul American Hunter stock, fits all of the Ruger American/ American predator short action rifles.
I actually got one for my 6mm Creed and it is great. Currently getting 103 Eldx groupings at just under 1"/100 yds (0.75-0.90" if I'm steady). Sometimes right at 1-1.1".

Might look at it for the grendel but not sure how the mag situation would be, Magpul doesn't accommodate the AR style mag, you would need to use the Ruger rotary ones. At least Boyds has an AR-variant for the predator rifles, for several of their stocks.

I am Lefty and will still buy and shoot a RH model but, I know I do not like the OEM stock.

here ya go. As a couple of other guys have written, the 10-ASC mag seems to work the best.
This is an MDT- Lss-xl (AR) chassis, for the RAP, has the AR magwell. If your predator has the rotary mags then this chassis is not for you. In that case I would look at the B&C stock.
This little guy is shooting well right now. Good MV too.
Doesn't handle the 90 gr tnt very well however, seems to be too short to cycle ok.
I'll shoot my 90's in other guns. so I'm good.

How much do the Boyds stocks weigh? (Classic for instance). I like the price of the Boyd's stocks but don't want to add any addition weight over the green meany factory stock.

I had an at-one for a ruger 300 BO, the stock weighed maybe 3.5 lb. It was blocky in feel to me, just a bit too much to deal with as far as I was concerned. Pro varmint was about 3.5 too.
I have a prairie hunter on a 6.5 CM, it weighs about 3 lb if I remember correctly. That's probably the neighborhood you should figure for the classic.
Boyds have a nice price but two things to keep in mind:
1. they do tend to be heavy b/c of the laminate wood construction.
2. they won't be an exact fit, in fact the best results come with doing a pillar bed on it to your action.
That microscopic-like internal "wiggle" during the shot causes some loss of accuracy.

The MDT LSS XI Ruger American chassis won’t work with rotary magsBut,I believe the ORYX Chassis system will.And it comes complete with grip and rear stock.I believe they’re in the $400 range.

Purchased the American a while back, sent it back. Would not cycle for shit. Used some snap caps, tried the factory ASC mag, and my Elanders raspberry. Very loose bolt, lots of slop. Go HOWA! A2

My RAP has always cycled well.ASC 10 and 5 rd magazines work well. If you still had a problem you should’ve sent it back again to Ruger, they have a pretty good customer service department with quick turnover.

My RAP took a while to get kinks out, I wound up sending it back and they replaced the bolt. It cycles now with the 123 class ammo, the 90 tnt's not so much (about 75% of the time). But I don't plan to shoot those 90's out of this one. Like FLs the ASC mags work best with it.
Neither the howa nor the ruger IMO is completely bug-free, but so far the RAP is working for me. More accurate than my howa was and better MV's for the 100gr ttsx's, so I'm happy.

I shoot only 123 grain ELDM through my RAP. I’ve also shot 120 grain SMK through it with no issues.I was going get a Rock Creek barrel for my RAP, but since it’s doing so well with the factory barrel I’m going to leave it alone for now.Mine is not bug free either. Mine is not bug free either. Every now and then double sticks a bit and is hard to open. But,it getting to where that’s few and far in between. I’ve been running a nylon brush and patches through it after every range session.
Haven’t taken the RAP Florida hog hunting yet. Just haven’t gotten around to it. And the fact that grayfox said that his doesn’t like 90 grain TNT.That is probably the bullet I’d use on these little piggies!

Found 129 SST's and RL-16 goes about 2900 fps. Sub-moa at this point 1/2 - 5/8's. I only have the one load for it so far. Not sure if I have pics or not.

If you’re going to use the oryx chassis,you might want to go w/the Howa mini.The oryx chassis will not be able to handle the RAP AR 15 mags.Unless you’re getting an RAP that doesn’t use the AR 15 mags.

I wondered also about the Oryx and the AR Mag on the RAP in 6.5 Grr and the other AR fed calibers. From what I read, that chassis won't work. (but please correct us if we're wrong).

I was wondering about the oryx as well. After emailing them, they confirmed the oryx will not work with ar mags. They recommended using the mdt polymer 224 valkyrie magazine as some customers have had success with it on the oryx. Im debating on going the oryx with mdt mag or getting the mdt lss xl and using ar mags

The only problem with using the MDT224 Valkyrie mags is that you will only get 7 rounds in it.And then you have to worry about feeding issues. Sounds like you could be opening a can of worms.
I got the MDT LSS XL/AR mag chassis for my RAP. It cost me a little more, but it’s a lot nicer then the oryx. Lighter too!
