So im looking at a tbox barrel are they really that good for $500 what other barrels out there are good I currently have a 20 inch faxon heavy fluted Barrel but not great accuracy 1.25 moa 2 5 moa of a bipod reload/factory ammo

i did some research into t-box at one time
they have a following, and the people that use them love them

i sent them an email
the said they use a .300 neck reamer, which the saami max
the barrels are 6 groove button rifle that they have made, the never told me who made them

now i never found anything bad about them
but for a similar price i wen to pf and got a bartlein

.300 neck is normal for both a bolt gun and auto loader. You want plenty of neck tension in an auto loader and neck turning robs you of that. Go any narrower than .300 and you will need to consider turning to guarantee enough clearance for bullet release. I tried a .286 in a 6.5*47 bolt gun once and for all the effort neck turning the results were no better than no-neck SAAMI.

Get an off-the-shelf Lilja or commission PF to do one in either Bartein or Kreiger. Those three makers supply Olympic shooting teams. Anything else is a lottery.

I've had really really good luck with barrels from Lilja. I am a dealer and get one for you as well (in fact, I sent one to TX just a few weeks ago). I also ran a pretty significant group buy on some Lilja SBR/Pistol barrels and have received really good feedback on those as well. There is certainly no reason to hesitate with a Lilja.

"battle in"??? Did you get auto-corrected? If you meant Bartlein, you simply can not go wrong with Bartlein either. The vast majority of what I sell is Lilja but when it comes to Bartlein vs Kreiger vs Lilja... that's like taking your pick between your top-3 favorite super-models. You win regardless of which you choose. They're all phenomenal barrels and there is no wrong choice between the 3.

No difference in quality, accuracy. Dan Lilja and family have a good customer service ethic. I have never dealt with Bartlein.

Lilja have off-the-shelf profiles ready to go for Grendel. Bartlein ('battle in'?) sell unprofiled barrel blanks. This means you have to source one through a reputable gunsmith who will profile and finish it for you. There will be a wait but you can commission a bespoke profile if you like.

Both are sourced by national shooting teams. Lilja was also commissioned by DEVGRU to provide match-grade carbine barrels for their Recon Rifle concept. The staff from Bartlein originally worked at Kreiger. They are all top shelf.

I recently got a Bartlein 24” heavy Grendel barrel for an AR build.Ran me $550 shipped from Craddock precision.It took close to 2 mo. to receive.But,worth the wait.Sub 1/2” all day,every day!
I would say it’s as good or better than my Krieger barrel and better than my criterion’s.The best part was that there was no break in. So no wasting ammo. It was broke in after the five round sight in!
I was so impressed with Bartlein that I have since ordered two other Bartleins, one for my AR15 300 blackout and one for my 556 Ruger Precision Rifle.

If you notice it's the same ones sometimes repeating targets. If a poster mentions he wants a barrel it turns into a Tbox infomercial. Same fanboys pop up in an instant. For $500 I am putting that into a PF barrel.

Agreed...Savvy manufacturers use social media as covert free advertising. If you think it is a consumer it comes across as unbiased. Same with product reviews on Google and even Brownells.

There was an expose on this a while back in the hospitality industry. Hotels getting their night staff to write fake positive comments during the quiet hours.

No doubt on this forum also.
