Bedding barrels, retaining compound or cerakote/tension fit.

Is there a significant difference in using cerakote on the barrel extension to create a tension fit vs using loctite (slip fit retaining compound)?
I'm going to lap the upper, which I'm sure will be horrendously out of whack considering its from BCA, before installing my new barrel.

If you wanted to avoid heating the upper for assembly loctite has the advantage there. Otherwise either method works fine. If the fit was super loose I'd look into using actual shim stock though.

I've done the Cerakote method before on most of the uppers I've had coated.

I do the inside of the tunnel in the upper, not the barrel extension itself.

I also bed it.

Some of them have been press-fit, like the 2A Armament FDE Cerakote from the factory upper I did. That took a lot of work to get into the upper, more than any I've ever done before. I was sweating and had to take numerous breaks throughout the process.
