I have not shot their fluted version. I have shot 2 (and still have 1) straight barrels... I'd say these 2 were/are ok, but truthfully for the money you'll do better with Ballistic Advantage. And for the money spent on break-in even for BA, it will add up to a Criterion...
My next AR build however, looks to be a lilja barrel, the "ok" ones like faxon are not proving to be the value proposition I am looking for. The 1 faxon I still have is liable to get benched soon b/c another brand I have is doing a better job.

i have one of those that I have put only 75 rounds though it with factory loads and its shot right at moa for me being an average shooter. For a heavy profile barrel it's one of the lightest offerings available on the market due to the fluting, which would make for a good hunting rifle. You should take a look at this sites equipment exchange, one at times can find a nice barrel to be had.

gofastman, my only experience with Faxon barrels is one of the prior Group-Buy barrels in 20". You have to understand that I am 69 and not half the shooter I was years ago. This barrel shoots MOA all day from an improvised rest with me behind it and an occasional group near 1/2 MOA when I get my s**t together and the stars align as is often said. This is with Hornady 123gr SST Custom ammo. All I have ever shot through it. The item # is 8152 for the ammo. Couldn't be happier with the rifle and am certain it will shoot better than I will ever be able to do. I get just slightly better results with my Bartlein barreled rifle, also 20", but it is near a lb heavier and that makes it take second seat to my main rifle, the "Group-Buy Hog Slayer".
