Good morning Horde,
Have any of you had some success calling in hogs with an electronic caller?
I have tried it 15 or 20 times over the last 2 years with zero success in Georgia or Texas.
This caller was purchased only because of the hog sounds that came with it.
Many coyotes and coons have come to the gun with it but no hogs........
I going to Texas Friday and try it again.
Any suggestions

I have a buddy here in Georgia that uses one with success, but he’s one of those guys who can sit on a log in the middle of a parking lot and see 150” deer!!

I hunted if Fort Valley this weekend, lots of birds. Saw a huge hog wallow behind a dam that has a little seepage......
Going to give it another try in Texas this weekend, even if no pigs come it is a killer predator call.

I have had some come into the feeding Frenzy electronic call. DNS has some videos using electronic calls with some success on hogs

Yeah, I do. I also have some where the hogs completely ignored the caller or actually took off running when the caller started.
When it works, it often works really freaking well. When it doesn't, it can ruin any chances you might have had. I only attempt to use a caller when I have all but given up and my only other option is going home, or I am on a property with no sign of hogs what-so-ever and figure I have nothing to lose by trying.
Chuck, I have called in more coyotes with hog calls than I have called in hogs. Coyotes can be very curious.
So what calls are you using?

I?ve got 2 Fox Pros. Their hog calls are not effective at all.....predator calls work ok.
A year or so I purchased a Convergent Bullet HP, great coyote call, great coon call, great cat call, no pigs yet.
Usually I only use electronic calls in the daytime, at night mouth calls work much better for me.....
Taking the Bullet to Texas with me Friday, only to use as a last resort.
This will be the first blood with the Grendel.

I am such an equipment whore, I ordered my Bullet the first hour after watching Hog Zombies
The call itself is great, especially for raccoons, I kill more raccoons than anything in Georgia.
Totally lost interest in deer hunting years ago, now pigs, cats, coyotes, raccoons and ringtail?s in that order are my favorite animals to hunt.

I don't use a Convergent bullet. I have used one and the blue tooth connection is way too fickle. Maybe they improved it in the last few months, but the reason why it comes with a mount to put your phone on your rifle is because if you put your phone back in your pocket, the signal drops out. Grass gets in the way, the signal drops out. Glenn Guess often uses a separate tripod just for the Convergent Bullet just to get it above the grass. It has a nice range, but when they say line of sight, they mean direct line of sight with no obstructions.

People have attempted to call hogs probably for as long as people have tried to hunt them. Glenn has popularized the practice, no doubt.

My hog caller works great. It’s called a deer feeder. Every time it goes off the hogs show up! ;-D

DNS, I like the Bullet HP for daytime calling........ my FoxPros are old FX3’s. That was a great video last night.
Old mouth calls work best at night.
