Still getting my Howa Mini sorted, but really need to do something about the trigger. It's pretty crisp and creep-free, but it's too heavy, even after adjusting it as low as it will go, it's at 4.5-5 lbs., I'd like it at 2. Would I be better off just spending the money and getting a Timney, or will some spring swapping get me where I want? This is a bench gun, not a hunter, so no need for comments about it being too light. And just to mix it up a bit more, what about the Rifle Basix triggers? Anyone compared the RB and the Timney side by side? Thanks.

Have you check it with a trigger pull gauge?
4.5 to 5 pounds is where it starts out at from the factory.
I'm not positive but I don't think there are any aftermarket triggers that fit the mini action.

Yes, I checked it with a trigger pull gauge, that's why I know what the pull weight is
. And based on at least one post here, the Timney trigger for the Howa 1500 DOES fit the mini-action, although the screw it comes with may not work. Based on that, I'm assuming (yes, I know) that the Rifle Basix for the 1500 will also work. I was just hoping that someone had actually tried it and could say for sure. Later.

Not sure, but maybe a gunsmith can help you. My guy took my Ruger M77 from 5 pounds to about 2-1/2 with ten minutes work. I have no idea if the Howa could be tweaked similarly.

I adjusted mine out . I left out 3 threads with locktite on em . it got slightly lighter . comparing side by side with my gieselle , i think it breaks around 2.4ish . no money spend . happy camper here

Ok not to sound like a you know what but are you sure you adjusted it correctly?
Did you remove the tamper seal from the screw and nut?
There is a aftermarket spring kit on eBay for the howa trigger as well.
