No. You've taken enough away from us already.
#1
To those who would say that we need more gun control legislation:

No. You have disarmed us enough already.

You have forced us to remove any reference to God away from our children outside our homes and churches. You have made it illegal to pray for safe and fair play at school functions. You have made it socially unacceptable to mention Christ in places where some semblance of "public" space may exist. You have forced our legal system into the position of moral authority while demanding no moral authority exist. You have forced moral equivocation and relevance at every opportunity demanding things like "equality" and "fairness" be legislated and taught even though those terms cannot possibly exist in a human population.

You have taken our sense of responsibility to be good people away already by telling us all that evil doesn't exist, and that if it does, it's because the perpetrators parents and friends were bad influences. It's not their fault.

You have told us that right and wrong don't exist; and if we argue and say it does you ask us - with indignant righteousness - "who are you to say?", or "what gives you the right?".

You have raised at least two generations in our public schools to think that violence is never the answer, and that protecting yourself is the job of your teacher - never yourself - at the price of being expelled from participation in school.
This later becomes the police, who are all too often too far away or far too slow to react.

You have deemed guns, knives, axes, box cutters, TOENAIL clippers, bottles of shampoo, Fox news, "right wing thinking", all to be tools of bullies and banned them from common discourse because they break too many of the rules above.

You have taken our right to be and act like men away. You have deemed real, honest masculinity to be "toxic" and dangerous to society. And most "men" under 30 have no idea what real men are supposed to do for their households and themselves. THEN you have the gaul to say they are spoiled, bad eggs, abusive, victims of an unfair and racist society. UNLESS THEY'RE WHITE. Then, it's the right wing's fault, the president's fault, the white supremist's fault, the church's fault, the conservative's fault, white privelage, the ALT RIGHT - you know.

You have taken our rights as parents away - detailing to us how we must conform only to your sense of the "correct" ways for discipline and correction within our private homes - at the threat of removing our beloved children from our homes and throwing us in prison - in the name of reducing "abusive" behavior and protecting our children. You have set up laws that require teachers to report any unusual discipline to you so that you can ignore the parents privacy and infiltrate their home to ensure no untoward teaching is taking place...

You have passed laws requiring our participation in "social justice" initiatives that take our hard earned money and give it to "less fortunate" individuals that never work for it. Then you empower these same "less fortunate" people to strive to be less and less fortunate in the name of further reward for the same. You even preach about "race reparations" for events that no one alive today contributed to, has any responsibility for, or could prevent from occurring.

You have given criminal behavior legitimacy by pointing out every act of evil or wrongdoing has a root cause; and that only by removing the root cause can "true healing" and "corrective action" take place. You replace "illegal" with terms like "undocumented" or "misplaced". You ignore the laws on the books you don't agree with, and allow leaders in place you happen to like to prevent our police, justice system, and government offices from enforcing them. Even though that in and of itself is very much illegal.

You have forced us to remain silent in the face of political opposition by labeling any dissent as "rooted in racist and ethnic discrimination". You have labeled every voice you don't agree with with whatever negative connotation you can make stick, daring us to speak out in dissent - at the cost of being ostracized and de-legitimized to the fringes of society - where further participation is meaningless and exponentially more difficult.

You have preached a humanist utopia to us; where if we only love one another, things will be all smiles and roses. You have indoctrinated our children to believe you over us, (their parents), about things like global warming, domestic terrorism, fake news, government superiority, police brutality. You have indoctrinated them to question authority at home, while screeching "hate speech" and "safe space" whenever they start to question authority in places where you believe you have correctly established it.

You have taken away our ability to defend ourselves in small little pieces. You have defined our current reality. People are unpredictable. Human behavior is a mystery. There is no homogeneous structure among any population. There are no natural laws governing human behavior except that we are unpredictable and inherently dangerous.

You have made these mass shooting events our reality. You have created places where these minds are free to think of people as things and statistics rather than living breathing individuals. After all, there are no real ways to define right and wrong. There are no people left to define what is right and wrong, and anyone's reality is their own so shut up. You have forced ideologies on our learning institutions for the last century that conform only to the "progressive" agenda, and have marginalized every other viewpoint. You have required license and certification from these same learning institutions in the form of diplomas and degrees ensuring that the only participants recognized as "expert" come from your education systems and approval.

It's not working. You're not always right. You're often wrong. You're not Lord and Master. You have no right to force us to obey. You do not have the authority you claim. You do not have the answers you profess. Your systems are falling apart, and everyone knows it.

Ben Franklin said in a letter penned in 1755 that “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”. Saying it another way: Those who would give up some freedom to gain some sense of safety will lose the first and receive none of the latter. So forgive me if I rant and point out your ineptitude. Because I'm a racist. And a bigot. And have white privilege. Forgive me if I tell you to kick rocks, buttercup; Take your prancing donkey to the next town because you're not welcome here.

Okay, Kisswhitetails. I reread it, and tell you again: Nice rant. Entertaining, but 99.9% is on topics other than the 2A.

He did say; "More to come..."
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the others here for?

That was in regards to his ideas for what a "2Amendmt monitoring patrol" would look like.

I didn't ask what it would look like. I want to know what it is, and what it is supposed to do.

He ought to be able to tell us at least that much. Surely he knows what he expects it to do.

What value does stirring the pot, sarcasm, and condescension add to any discussion?

Considering the common theme of liberty, the OP’s statements are 100% consistent with this topic. Essential liberties don’t exist in isolation, they are interconnected. The Bill of Rights didn’t bestow natural born rights onto us. Instead, the purpose was to remind government of its limits and to decisively establish those limits. Have we forgotten?

What discussion? The thread is primarily a very long rant on non-2A topics, followed up by several "Amens!"

There was also a proposal for a "2Amendmt monitoring patrol" but the poster won't even explain what it is.

Hardly. The rant is about religion, parenting, and just about every subject under the sun except for the 2A.

Stan, allow me to ask a question. Why the simple yet consistent and seemingly permanent tone in your posts here? I haven’t read everything, but I’ve read enough to see this is a forum you peruse and post in regularly. Are you attempting in a passive aggressive way to challenge the thoughts and encourage the improvement of the clarity of the writing of those that post here?

You can say whatever you wish, this is America. Last time I checked, the law was clear enough to protect that right.

I think most folks that take the bait are insulted by your tone, though that only seems to spur you on. While most of the time you’re technically correct, which is the only important part to you, there are times where your insinuations are rude at best.

We’re you picked on for being factually wrong at some point? Did/do you work for a legal think tank?

Say whatever you want about my post. It doesn’t bother me. What I find interesting is your continued insistence on throwing your weight into threads that are intended for discussion and wind up getting them closed or locked because they wind up becoming pointless and rude.

Be right. Win. But be alone in the end. It’s almost as though this is your goal. The fact is that in my mind these points you claim have nothing to do with the 2a, are in fact perfect examples of why I will always fight to keep them from revoking my right to keep and bear arms. Because they are illustrative of the mindset of those that want to take it from me; From us. And because of that listing them seemed a good way to pint out that I say no you can’t have my 2a for a reason.

You’re right, I don’t list in every sentence the way I believe they’re related. I think I kind of hoped the reader could connect those dots themselves. And I know for certain that you can. And did. And do.

Love ya man, keep the faith. Good night.

My tone here is the same as in any other forum: I always try to be logical and rational.

Kswhitetails Wrote:Are you attempting in a passive aggressive way to challenge the thoughts and encourage the improvement of the clarity of the writing of those that post here?
I don't do passive-aggressive.

Kswhitetails Wrote:I think most folks that take the bait are insulted by your tone...
I don't put out "bait" for anyone to take. And anyone who feels insulted by logic and facts is reacting irrationally.

Kswhitetails Wrote:While most of the time you’re technically correct, which is the only important part to you, there are times where your insinuations are rude at best.
I never insinuate.

Kswhitetails Wrote:We’re you picked on for being factually wrong at some point? Did/do you work for a legal think tank?
LOL. No. And no.

Kswhitetails Wrote:What I find interesting is your continued insistence on throwing your weight into threads that are intended for discussion...
Now, there's a good example of an irrational reaction. I have no "weight" to throw into threads. And this thread doesn't seem intended for discussion.

Yes, I understood your reason for listing them. That doesn't alter the fact that they are non-2A topics.

Gun free zones, ie soft targets thanks to Joe Biden, have opened the door to the crazies. Like rape it's not about guns it's about control and the left wants it all. Fence sitters, a group that loves to incite yet offer on real answers, only add to the problem.

Realistically, with over 300 million guns in play, how would the left really eliminate them all? One only needs to look at Chicago, NYC, and other Democratic controlled areas to see their results.

Guys:

Stan does not believe in God. You fellows talk about freedom all the time. He is free to believe or not believe.

If you want to start an argument with him about it, it will end up with me locking another 2A thread.

55,
point well taken and for that I agree. However, it is also fair to say one should not pick arguments with those who do believe in God either. This freedom and respect should work both ways. Even one who does not believe could conceivably agree to disagree and leave that part of the discussion at that...
