Grendel in the wind and the vortex PST 6X24

I decided to try out the grendel today in a 17 mph gusting cross wind. I was shooting kneeling with bipods on a crate (could not see the popper in prone position). It was 10-15 degrees when I started shooting at a 6 inch self reseting popper. I was able to hit it 5 for 6 @ 340 yds. My hits were within about 3 inches of each other. I adjusted about 4 MOA for the wind. I used the reticle hash mark for verticle (why I picked 340) and looks to be close. I didn't have the camera with or I would have taken a pic of the plate when I was done. Next time.

Given your shooting position, I'd say that's pretty darned good performance. How was the PST at that distance? What magnification did you run?

To be able to hit a 6" plate at all is a good achievement. With gusty wind, it is very difficult with many calibers at that distance. For steely-eyed killers, it's a piece of cake...

The PST did OK image was clear and bright (but was a bright sunny day), I almost always shoot highest possible power, in this case at 24 power. Can't wait to take it out little farther. Brother has been practicing with the 223 @ 500 yds and in calm conditions is hitting 4 of 6 times. I have shot 20 oz pop bottles with the 7 wsm @ 500 so will be interesting to see what the grendel can do.
