Wolf accuracy seems to vary quite a bit. You can get some barrels that shoot it well, but a lot that will shoot it about like yours did. It is worse in some.
The barrel is only part of the accuracy issue. You can have two of the same gun by the same manufacturer and shoot 2 types of ammo and have ONE shoot ammo A better and TWO shoot ammo B better. You may find that you get better groups with either barrel with different ammo. That is part of the reason a lot of precision shooters reload their ammo so that they can custom match it to the gun/barrel.

Wolf shoots roughly 3moa out of my barrel.

1” or less out of factory ammo isn’t bad at all.
You never know what wolf is gonna do. I’ve only shot a few rounds of it and I don’t recall which barrel it was but I was ok with how it shot. 1.5- 2 moa maybe. It wasn’t 3-4 moa bad I know that.

i get about 3 moa with Wolf.
I've own two Criterion barrels, though neither for Grendel(yet). Both shoot sub .5moa with handloads after ladder work. Bolt guns however, not AR pattern ( if that really matters)
.96 might be the best you'll get with box ammo, even if its match. One reason i went to handloads

My results with Wolf Steel has been very inconsistent. I had a SKS and a Ruger Ranch, both shot groups from 1.5 MOA out to 3+ MOA. I know that they were 7.62x39, but my CZ bolt rifle with the 6.5 Grendel Wolf Steel isn't any better. Seems to be more of the alignment of the stars with Jupiter rising thing than anything else. Wolf is throw away blasting ammo on a good day. Keep a case or two on hand for WTSHTF. Three MOA is good enough on the battlefield.
As far as Federal and Hornady, I get better results with the Federal Match. My best is Nosler Custom Competition Match. After only 4 - 10 shot groups with the Nosler CCM, the worst group to date is only slightly larger than my best ever group with Hornady Black. Just wish that the Nosler CCM wasn't so expensive.

Not knowing the rest of the builds ,....I would say your results are typical or average.
Is .96 average group or best it can do?
What trigger are you using? Milspec? Tuned mil spec? Or after market?
Have you taken any steps to accurize the rifle,? bed barrel, bed Gas block, trued receiver? Lapped barrel, lapped rings?
As for wolf I've never used it, but the general trends are deeper rifled barrels will shoot it better, and that 1.5 to 2 moa is as good as you will ever get with it.

On my criterion barrel, the best I have seen is .96 moa. I am usually hovering around 1.2 moa. Trigger is Geissele and very clean. Barrel has an interference fit on the bcm upper ie had to heat it up to get it installed. Gas block is adjustable jp clamp on. I figure I will need to hand load to really get performance out of criterion barrel.
I appreciate everyone's feedback and perspective.

Do either of your barrels have a SAAMI chamber with compound throat?
I just looked up Classic Arms and saw barrels in the $59-$73 range. Seems like a waste of time at those price points and I would never recommend a barrel at that price.
Criterion barrels are shooters in my experience, as long as whoever is doing the profiling and chambering knows what they are doing.
To be getting .96" 5rd groups from a 12.5" with a 130gr load is impressive actually.
The lighter guns are harder to hold on-target and get a little jumpy, but still have plenty of practical accuracy even at distance.

He did not say his criterion is a 12.5. Thats not to say it isnt. It just seems he didnt specify the length of the second setup

Hi, criterion is 12.5 inch. Gas system is carbine plus 1. Work was done by craddock precision. I don't know enough about compound throat.

Lapped scope rings. Just makes sure each ring is on the same plane

My 6.5 Creedmoor Criterion Barrel is a shooter as well. Wish I wouldve went that route with the Grendel.
