also just an FYI I am a Patriot Life Endowment Member of the NRA and i have not been happy with the way they spend our money for some time and now donate to the NRA-ILA and GOA.

LR55 and Nuggin are on a good track.
The accusations are very likely to diminish donations to an organization with a proven track record.
The best we can hope for now enough transparency to either refute or verify the claims. The. wqe get to watch what happens.

I'm not so sure about that. Lately they have been backing red flag laws and they also supported the bump stock ban, which is probably the main reason it went through. People said "oh even the nra supports it it must be a good idea. They called me this week asking to upgrade my life membership and I told them that unless I see them actually fighting for our rights I won't be giving them any more money.

JASmith, No this is not to diminish donations as i told the NRA people who call me on a weekly basis for donations, i told them i now donate to the NRA-ILA as that money is being used to fight for our rights not buy suits for a board member, If the claims are verified that board member and others who are taking $250k+ out of our funds should step down, This is the reason i am posting this info, I do not want an apology and a "we wont do it again" statement I want them gone we trusted them and my trust for them has gone and so should all the members of the NRA, I want to get the info out there for all NRA members to know and make there feelings be heard. Also if i hear that they have full backing of the board then they all need to stand down. We should all contact our state NRA board member and ask them were they stand and let them know what we think, Again i am not posting this to stop donations to the NRA or to bring down the NRA i am just a member who wants to know our money is being spent wisely and to fight for our gun rights, Here in Oregon the Democratic controlled legislature were just going to ram though an anti gun bill with all kinds of crap in it and the NRA-ILA got involved along with other pro gun organization's and found out there was law that the Oregon senate could not vote on any bill if there were not X amount of senators seated so they had us contact our senators and had them walk out so no new bills could be passed, Without there help we would not have known about that law or inundated our senators for them to do this and stop the bill. This is not the only time i have seen or been involved through being contacted by the NRA-ILA and this is why i support them, It shows me our money is being used for the right causes.

Almost everyone reading this forum understands what the NRA should be- just as we understand what our House of Representatives and Senate should.
We likewise understand that an executive director (or whatever his title is) who does some of what La pierre has done does NOT have the best interests of the organization as his primary, overriding focus.
We get angry when we find out that senators and representatives have become fat-cats. Personally, as a 30+ year NRA member (and my wife is over 20 years, and so are the kids) I don't much care about excuses. I simply think it's time for La Pierre and his associates (if he has any) to go.

I became a Life Member to the NRA in 1975. I also put my wife and three children into the NRA. It was not an easy task as I am and never was affluent. I figured that it was very important to do so. When I could, I put some funds in the DCM and the Wittington Center, as I think that those two organization are important to the life of this sport we talk about here and this sport in general. I am sorry to say that the DCM is no longer functional. The Left in Congress saw to that.
The controversy as I have heard it was over the fee paid an attorney. I am not sure if that is true or not. Even on U-tube, Hickock 45 is in on the I am not going to shill for the NRA no more.
This has got to stop. The more that this continues, the less freedom we have.

I now see Grisham on Guntalk saying Wayne has to go reading the article Im inclined to say he needs to get out also. I believe the board needs to get their organization in order before we go into the 2020 election cycle.

I think a LOT of members are going to have to drop their membership, and more, before this gets resolved.
I've also spoken with our local NRA ILA director, and explained that I won't contribute any more to the NRA or the ILA until Lapierre is gone. Hopefully, a LOT of other people will do the same. No more ILA donations or participation from me or any of my friends, either. Maybe if their pocketbook is hurt enough, they'll get the message?

I’m not sure what the answer is I’ve never made it to the level of CEO or executive Vice President which seems to be a permanent position and title. I’m responsible for a 16 man crew and 50+million dollar vessel and I have to answer to more than just a handful of people. But one thing I never have made the decision to do is divert money from a company account for my personal gain in any way shape or form. But what I’m seeing today in the NRA disillusions me concerning it’s management and how donations are used. I cannot see myself dropping my membership and will continue to hope it can straighten itself out. Will Wayne retire, the board fire him, or they continue to sweep everything under the rug.
As JA Smith said we get to see what happens. I hope it’s a real transparency and not something similar to Obama’s presidency.

This is prbly a healthy process overall - let's hope - but let's not forget who is the #1 target for the Democrats and the I-hate-guns-crowd. The cost of gun ownership is worth how much?
If the Democrats had been in power when this country was founded, we'd be the British.

If nothing happens with the NRA by Sept 1, (in terms of major change) I'm going to donate the money I would have spent at the nra auction and donations and give it to the 2nd Amendment Foundation.
