This bolt is marked MPI in gold letters and the entire BCG except the firing pin has a finish like on my Sig Sauer pistols both visually and to feel very uniform. This is a new AR Stoner BCG included in my AR S complete upper assembly. Also the Fluting on the barrel is very uniform with none of the sharp edges and rudimentary exterior machine work I have read of with other buyers in earlier posts....of course the proof is in the pudding and I am seasoning the bore very thoroughly...…..
What is best bore seasoning method anyone has come up with???

I am having a terrible time getting the firing pin retainer in that 2nd itty bitty hole inside my BCG??? any tricks for this??

Push it in as far as you can by hand, then use a needle nose pliers to grab the end, orient it so the turn of the pin is parallel to the firing pin and apply light pressure for and aft to get the second / shorter leg of the pin to go into the second hole. Some pins have legs that stay together, some have legs that spread apart. If you want, you can tweak the legs to stay together, but where's the fun in that?

Thanks....my legs are spread too far apart...got frustrated and had to roll away from it for a bit

Once in a while I run into a bolt carrier where even the straightest of cotter pins just will not go in easy.

Insert pin in first hole, then orientate the bcg so your looking from back down into it and you can see the pin as it enters the opposing side. Just when you think your pushing it straight across the span you may noticed that it is angling down or up a touch too much.

Thanks for all the help....I pulled one from another bolt I wasn't using and have the same issue...guess my old eyes aren't what they used to be!!! Flashlight in my mouth...forceps and a dental pick and still wouldn't go............Got frustrated so
I took the tip from FRB6.5 and ordered 4 retaining pins from Brownells and several bolt spring packs and making up a repair kit for my range bag. Shortening the ejector spring on mine and a buddies Grendel bolt to stop the case mouth denting issue and breaking the sharp edge on our plungers as suggested on the first page of this thread.

I find a small Allen key works great for pressing the arms together so it will go into the other hole. I have one retaining pin like that. One of the legs is bent out and it's a pain to get back in.

Thanks for the tip and response...…..Got up this morning, had a cup of coffee and started again. The key slipped right in without an issue. I have to figure a bit of frustration goes a long way toward "failure to launch" LOL

I like it seems perrty cool. But in the end run it's still just a bandaid to the problem.
I like others have shortened my ejector spring and it cured the problem all together.
But I can see this product having good sales as a lot of folks don't know how are don't want to work and fine tune their setups. They can just throw this on their rifle and fix the dented case mouth this way.
Heck I might buy one just for the heck of it.
