well i will tell you the first gen red dot did not survive.. first blast ridicule dropped 5 in" so i shot 3 more just to cycle.. have ammo and optics on way. will post paper cut outs asap..

Shouldn't that mount be flipped around to move the scope forward?

I think you are right. The red dot that came in it was mounted that way never really noticed. I haven't had time to pick it up since mounting it.. thanks for the heads up.. I feel silly.. 😳

You're definitely not the first to get the mount on backwards. You would have felt even sillier, had that been a 20MOA mount! Imagine the dialog when asking yourself "Why does my scope run out of elevation at 200 yards?".

The silliest optics mistake I ever saw was at a local public range. One shooter, a fellow in his 40's, was having difficulty getting on paper at 50 yards. I was't paying much attention, since this wasn't a very rare thing at a public range. It wasn't until one of the RO's asked me to come over to help the fellow out that I really took notice. He was complaining that he couldn't see the target well, and didn't understand what the attraction to scopes was all about! A casual glance showed me that his scope (an inexpensive Walmart 3-9) was mounted front to back. All the images were ridiculously small, when viewed through the objective. When I pointed this out, the RO face palmed, but the rifle's owner just looked puzzled, not certain why it should make a difference.

I recommended he take his rifle to one of the local shops and have them mount the scope. This at least got him off the range and away from the rest of us.

Ok. So I got mount on correct.. really embarrassing.. I'm so used to two separate rings.. lol.
Here what I got on paper. Hornady black.. 123gr I believe, no wind, over cast , Bushnell Trophy 3x12x 40, off a standing table.
