So all of my parts for my Grendel upper are sitting at the house with the wife and kids and I'm stuck in the gulf of mexico until Jan 8th. I have no doubt that I'm going to love this cartridge and plan to take it on it's maiden voyage to harvest some axis deer in south Texas. All that being said I am already looking to plan the next build and having a difficult time deciding on what that should be. I'm considering a 300blk sbr or pistol(with the future intentions of threading a can on it) against a big frame ar build, probably in 6.5 creedmoor.

Once you have the Grendel, creedmoor loses all it's appeal imo. Unless you want to shoot elk or large game at 600 yards or reach out past 1000 there isn't much creedmoor does that Grendel doesn't, except weight you down in the field. I'm don't with ar10s personally having gone down that road already.
300 is cool but I opted for 9mm AR for suppressed fun. It's not a hunting round but my 9mm pistol build is easily my most fun plinking gun. 9mm is way way cheaper and more plentiful than 300 and often supresses better with 147gr+ loads in a pistol. I also had a 300 upper that I sold to switch over to 9mm and I am still glad I did.

Get optics for the Grendel if you haven't yet.
I've owned 5 different large frame AR10s (ArmaLite AR10T), LR-308s, and LR-260s. There is a performance advantage with .260 Rem and 6.5 CM, but with pretty significant and noticeable recoil/weight/bulk/length penalties compared to AR15s.
I kept one of the LR-260s (custom-built by GAP with a Bartlein), and got rid of everything .308 Win. I haven't shot my .260 in years now, and it sits in pieces. Since I have so many AR15s in 6.5 Grendel, maybe I need to get the .260 Rem back together since I raped it for the Geissele trigger and some other small parts. I hate trimming brass though, which you have to do with .260 Rem. None of my fired brass is able to be loaded right now for that reason, and it eats brass pretty fast.
For recreational long-range shooting out to 1000yds, the main thing .260 or 6.5 CM do for me is make louder impacts on steel.
If you're looking for your next project, I have to agree with the above 2 posters.
I really am liking the 12" Grendel pistol so far (take it out to 800yds regularly), and I also like 9mm sub gun semi auto clones as well, suppressed.
I've been looking at the Brugger & Thomet, SiG, SP5K, and some others just for shooting steel at close range for fun, like plate racks.
A buddy of mine has an MP5K clone with tri-lug and a suppressor, Aimpoint T1 Micro RDS, with a brace. That thing is a blast on plate racks just for fun shooting.

I’ve been thinking of a 10.5 300 blk, but I saw a 10.5 45ACP that really got me to think a little longer on this. Already have a 450 bushmaster tee’d up after the 6.5 is finished, so it’s next but already thinking beyond that.

All are very viable options and at some point I'm guessing I'll have at least 1 of each. The reason for the large frame is that while i currently work in the Gulf of Mexico, I spent all summer on the Kenai Peninsula and made a few friends that have offered to give me a place to stay and take me out to their favorite spots to get some Alaska big game. I really wish the 6.5-284 wasn't so damn long that it didn't fit in a large frame magazine. Wouldn't be set on the creedmoor as a .260 would also be looked at closely. Might well just do a pistol lower and end up with an upper in both grendel and 300 blk. I am planning to get my form 1 and make a 30 cal can that will be able to handle supers so that i can just move it from upper to upper.
As far as the grendel's optics go, I'm still searching. Haven't found the right deal on the right glass just yet. I have a few no name turds at the house i can live with until i find exactly what i want.

I am kind of in the same boat currently. I had been planning on a 300blk pistol/sbr with a suppressor in the future, but I guess I need to look at 9 a little closer.

A 9mm ar pistol is hard to beat for plinking, even for realistic tactical training etc. The only reason I would go 300blk is for supressed hunting, even then you run into expansion problems with some ammo since they are high velocity bullets in a lower velocity cartridge.
Edit: not trying to bash 300 in anyway just explaining my thoughts on going with 9mm. I am a fan of most calibers including 300.
9mm is as cheap as it gets beside 22lr, doesn't kick at all in an AR pistol, feeds and functions 100% for me with my stern defense adapter and all the dedicated lowers I have seen, and is just too much fun with a reflex or red dot sight! I call it my adult BB gun because I get the same kind of feeling shooting it as I did a when I was a kid shooting cans with a BB gun. Just a kid smacking steel for $.16 a round!
It would also be one heck of a home defense gun

I have the Grendel (MY favorite) also a 6.5 Creed and 300 B/O. I find I shoot my Grendel the most and then the B/O. I am not that impressed with the Creed. JMHO.
