For you Engineer types. Would a Blazer collet type bolt head the same size as a Stoner be stronger?

If it wouldn't work for an AR ,it looks like a natural for a box fed lever action.

It would be stronger with the lug lock-up, but wouldn't be able to clear the bolt catch because of bolt travel.

You would need to modify critical parts of the system in order to get the necessary BCG travel distance rearwards in order for the mechanical operation to work as a semi-auto.

Bolt travel is one of the major considerations with semi-auto firearms design.

You would also have to do some unique approach to the extractor in order to get it to captivate in the bolt bore within the carrier, maybe a dogleg like DD did on their 7.62 NATO DD5V1.

Or you could just use AerMet and make a standard configuration Stoner rotating bolt, with some changes to the barrel extension as well to deal with hoop.

I remember the AerMet bolt and WOA barrel extension mentioned in a 6mm Grendel thread. Seems like 55k chamber pressure was mentioned.
