In California, gun control fails once again

stanc Wrote:Jeez. Clearly, the State of Montana can be a dangerous place.

Most people have zero clue what actually goes on around them in the places they live. There was much more I could have mentioned, but I think my point was made. I usually don't dwell on the ugly and have more happy stories about growing up in Montana than ugly ones. There are always serpents in Eden and Mt is no different.

Yes, you did. But, I doubt that many Californians can relate to your life experience. During my 60-plus years here, I have never been shot at, never been the victim of a violent crime, never knew anyone who was a murderer, never knew anyone who was murdered. I'd wager the same is true of most CA residents.

When one is accustomed to a life with no personal exposure to violence, it's very easy to feel no need to be armed. Living in a seemingly safe area, I feel no need to have a gun for self defense. Although in my case, the point is moot, since I wouldn't even be able to use a gun, if I had one when being attacked. LOL.

It is our life experiences that shapes our thinking and attitude. Both my parents taught me at a very young age to never come home crying if another kid was bullying me or they would give me a reason to cry. Some would think this was horrible parenting, but what it did do was teach me to learn how take care of myself and not become dependent on others. When I see the masses today, "fighting so others can take away their rights to self defense, free speech, property, due process, and income" I'm left baffled and confused. I was taught civics and responsibility to my community and nation when I achieved my Eagle Scout at age 14. I was taught that I had to earn what was mine and that nothing was free. My first job was at age 4 changing irrigation pipe and feeding our live stock. From age 16 on, I personally payed for everything in my life. The best lesson taught to me by my parents was that life is not always fair. Like a grinding wheel, life will highly polish you are grind you to nothing, it all depends on what you are made of. If a persons life is sheltered and privileged, then the realities of that life will never be truly understood or appreciated. This is why the role of being a victim or helpless needy citizen, "dependent on others" will never be part of my make up.

You do not understand the left and that is why our side loses. To the left, firearms are a symbol of our side. Taking them away from us is something the left views as a way of beating us -- of winning a big part of the war they have been fighting to get our country to become another Venezuela or Cuba. You can argue the Constitution all you want. Doesn't matter to a leftist because they have no respect or regard for the Constitution or any of our rights. You can argue how many people get killed in car accidents, by malpractice, or falling out of bed and compare it to how many get murdered via the use of a firearm all you want. These things mean nothing to a leftist because their intent is to do away with our form of government and install (ideally) Communism but they are happy to start with socialism.

So I read all these factual arguments supporting the 2A and wonder what our side doesn't get about the leftists. I believe most of our side is afraid to call them Socialists or Communists but one thing for sure is this, the war is not over the 2A, it is over our way of governing and our freedoms.

My focus has been directed at leftist leaning or "seemingly confused" gun owners. We had a few in our shooting club. Preaching to the choir is pointless, but I have always had a difficult time keeping my mouth shut when I hear or read skewed comments. It is easy to dismiss an adolescent brainwashed college leftist, "but not so easy" when it comes from the shooting community. You are correct when you stated " the war is not over the 2A, it is over our way of governing and our freedoms". With the poor parenting skills, news media, school system we have today, it is shocking how common knowledge is no longer common. I have watched my nation and community change dramatically and it isn't for the better. Our side better start pushing back or it will not end well.

Al-Mujaahid received zero charges for violating the store's policy because the store opted NOT to press charges.

Commended by DA who along with the police did not want to release his gun back to have after being cleared of any wrong-doing. He had to threaten a lawsuit to get it back.

Then, after being heralded as a hero, it was learned he had been committing, and was later convicted of tax fraud, resulting in multiple felony convictions. He lost his guns.

This is what I'm talking about. What is your point?? Should people ignore an armed robbery for fear of repercussions and not conceal carry?? Cops who violate the law prove cops should not be armed?? Once again I'm left baffled and confused! Here is a man, "I personally know" the DA tried to convict of murder. He was eventually found innocent. https://helenair.com/news/local/helena-m...88b13.html

Leftest's, liberals, democrats! It must be nice to have someone to blame all the worlds problems on! They're doing it to use, we're doing it to them.

Nice is not the word I would have used when discussing leftist, liberals and democrats. Yes, polar opposites on the political scale tend to blame each other. Was there a point or opinion about the OP? Once again I'm left baffled and confused!

Armed robber shot by former armed robber. Would it be fair to call that ironic? Cool http://archive.jsonline.com/news/crime/a...8529.html/

Two points.
Point #1 I think we sound like pathetic children always blaming the liberal left for the worlds/USA's problems.
Point #2 If you actually talk to people instead listening to the media you find only a small % of Democrats are crazy left liberals. Half of the country is probably not trying to destroy everything you hold dear. Some even own guns. (unfortunately we only have two choices of who to vote for creating an all or nothing dynamic)

If you're carrying concealed unlawfully, I'd say as long as the robber is not shooting at anyone, you should not start shooting at the robber.

"...the burglar posed no threat and was climbing out a window to escape when he was fatally shot in the back."

Sure sounds like murder to me. (And he was not found innocent. The judge declared a mistrial and the DA dropped the charges.)

The problem my friend had was he didn't call his lawyer first. It was never proven he was climbing out the window when he fired, which is one of the many reasons he was not prosecuted by the original DA. There is a lot of information not in the article, but needles to say he was not convicted. My friend was and is going through cancer treatment and is not an aggressive person by any stretch of the imagination. Looking for trouble was not his MO. My friend did not start this conflict, the criminal did. This was a political motivated arrest by a very left leaning DA. As far as I'm concerned any person found in a home, "committing a felony" should be considered a threat and it is not up to the home owner "victim" to know what the intent of the home invader is. Using lethal force is always and I mean always the last resort and my friend would never have used it if he wasn't in fear for his life.

I'm sorry if stating facts sounds like a pathetic child, but I do tend to blame those responsible. It has not been the Republican platform trying to disarm me. I have just as easily directed my criticism towards conservatives when needed. It is very presumptuous of you to think I never talk to people from the left, I have and do. Sorry to burst your bubble, "but it is usually the left minded people that I try to engage with in a civil discussion" that invariably always resorts to personal attacks, name calling and anger. My wife has a first cousin who completely cut her off because she shoots competitively. Not very opened minded now is it? I also have liberal friends from France who I instructed in firearm safety and introduced to competitive shooting. We have remained close friends even though we are opposites politically. When half the country supports or votes to put into power people who support gun bans, property and wealth confiscation, eradication of national borders, scientific reality of genders and due process, then they are trying to destroy everything I hold dear. Yes we unfortunately have only two choices but the choice is not that hard if one doesn't believe in socialism, AKA communism.

Not so sure about this... Didn't obama say a bumb stock ban was unconstitutional and President Trump is trying to ban them..... All b rack did was be in office during the best 8 years of gun sales, or was that part of the plan to get rid of them?

If the Democrats and Republicans politicians are so polar and moral opposites, why is that once they are out of office they become friends like they were before they ran against each other.? Bill and George do stuff together. George and Barack do stuff together. Trump and Clinton will be friends again once his terms are over....like they were before he ran!

Reality check, it was the Republican house and senate that refused all the gun control Obama and the dems wanted to pass. It is the republican's that put pro 2ndA Supreme court judges in, not democrats. Republicans have been and are guilty, but nothing on the scale the democrats have been or have admitted they are planning to do. This is getting off topic, but you trying to tell me the states the dems are in control of are no more hostile to gun rights than states controlled by republicans is idiotic. In my local, county and state and legislature ,almost 100% of the dems had an F rating by the NRA. Try again LOL

I could care less who holds hands after hours, all that matters is who votes for what. The dems are unified when voting against gun rights. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/...b32e4515e6

The head of the Republican platform is trying to take bump stocks from you. Is that not the slippery slope we all talk about?
