Wasn't sure where to post this but took a swag. I was watching the latest episode of FBI I recorded tonight and I got a bit of a start when they decided that the sniper was using a a rifle chambered in 6.5 Grendel.

I happen to have my brand new PSA 6.5 Grendel Pistol with it's 12 inch barrel in my hands when that little bit was said. I was wondering which caliber they'd vilify and had a hutch it would be the Grendel.

Well, for a change, the writers knew enough to pick an effective cartridge — or was it because “Grendel” is a scary name?

I saw that too and boy are they good!
They figured out it was a 6.5 Grendel by one little piece of bullet fragment.
Also managed to get in a plug for mandatory recording of amunition sales, as if people actually buy Grendel ammo in stores.
They scared a lot of uneducated people though, that's all they were after anyway.

I really don't think its some crazy agenda, they do what they think will make them the most cash, aka capitalism. If they thought PRO GUN would bring in more money they'd be pro gun. Haven't seen FBI and doubt I ever will though.

A quick look on the positive side ( watched that episode also ), they gave the Grendel credit for a pretty long shot in a tough environment. Should get some positive attention from folks trying to decide on a next rifle and asking "what is this thing?"

It's ok though, nobody watching that show will know what a 6.5 Grendel cartridge looks like if they didn't already. They didn't show one once, looked more like a Creedmoor.
