Anyone else have a problem shooting factory Hornady 123 A-Max loads from an AA side charging upper? It won't try to pick up the next load at all after ejecting a spent round but works just fine with my gunsmiths handloaded 125 nosler partitions. He says hopefully it just needs to be broke in, I plan on getting some brass and dies asap to start reloading but are there any bullets out there that people are having trouble with in their side charging upper that I need to watch out for?

I didn't experience any difference when I switched from a standard upper to a side charging. Could need breaking in but I don't think so. Have you rechecked all your gas system parts for proper alignment? Barrel port to gas block, etc. Factory 123's should have plenty of pressure.
I'll finish off this box and see where I'm at then.
I have a side charger from Mega (I assume they're making the side charger for AA, too; the two receivers look exactly the same), and I haven't had any feed issues with Hornady 123s, Lapua 123s, Sierra 123s and 107s, or the Scirocco 130s.
Do you have a adjustable Gas Block?
I think that TxGunner00 is on something with his advice of a check of the gas system.

That's almost all I've shot through mine, no issues.

When I got mine, the charging handle on the side screwed in too far. It would rub the bolt. It was just enough to interfere with correct operation. I filed it down some. I suppose I need to trim mine some more. If I have it screwed down tight, it will still impede the bolt. If it is a bit loose, it works perfectly.
Hmmm, next time I go I'll load up a clip, charge one in and take the handle off as a test. Thanks.
