Ok folks let's hear some thoughts on this subject.
Been doing google research for a 16 inch barrel, was going to have xcaliber build me one but they wouldn't finish the gas port to my liking so decided.
I would just be like everybody else and find a 16 inch barrel with either mid or carbine gas length.
Ok now that's out the way got to looking found a few I'm liking but then I went to Wilson's website and dang I'm lovin his 16 inch grendel barrel but and here's what I'm wanting to know.
It seems that either nobody knows Wilson is making grendel barrels or maybe they arent a known quality supplier or something because there is very few reviews or much talk about their barrels in grendel.
So before I drop coin let's here it from the horde, What's the deal why no love for the Wilson grendel barrels?

Everything Wilson does is topnotch, that said, I have no experience with his Grendel barrels.

I can't comment on why they're not talked about, but I think they're up your alley. The rumour on the world wide web is that Wilson makes JP's blanks.

They have not been on the market very long. And if I recall, the complete gun or upper preceded the intro of the barrel only option.

The one review I saw on them wan't all that glowing.

I don't have a Grendel barrel but do have a Wilson Combat in .223 Wylde and so far I really like it. It is a 20" SS Match and shoots pretty good. Can't speak for the Wilson Grendel though.

That doesn't always work out. But hey, at least my BSF didn't explode. And my 6mm McGowen didn't show massive amounts of thermal drift.

I'd go with the reputation of Wilson, and be unfazed if it shot 1/2 inch groups from a gas gun - which as we all know can't be reliably, repeatably, done....

Bought the 20" for my Grandson's Birthday which is early November. Will give it to him a little early so he has time to get assembled and sighted in for the Deer Season that starts the second Saturday of November. Had it coated Black. The workmanship is exceptional. Will be his first build and when he has finished will report on accuracy.

Plan B. : if someone buys my Grendel upper in the classifieds I’ll gladly turn right around and build a Wilson upper to give it a test drive and report back

How's the bullets working out for you?

Going to the Range Sunday - loaded up 5 in .5 grain increments .
Will run these over a chrono and choose an upper end speed within reason and load up the remainder.

Cool deal, can't wait to see the kill results.
Have my 16 inch barrel being delivered tommorw, if it don't check out it's going back for refund and I will be getting a 16 inch Wilson barrel to test.
