No loss. I'd buy a used Yugo before I bought another Kel-Tec product.
Let's go Brandon!

Same. It's a shame because I love the rdb-c concept. Hopefully other manufacturers make something similar AND in Grendel. It's streamlined like a bolt gun, long barrel with a short oal, and lightweight. I can't think of a better setup for hiking based hog hunts.

I've always bee interested in bullpups, but never had a chance to handle one. Until last weekend, when one of my range buddies brought out his Desert Tech SRS in 6.5 Creedmoor. I couldn't believe it had a 26" barrel! It wasn't light, but the weight was distributed so close to my body that it handled like a dream.

Needless to say, I'm sold on the bullpup configuration, and the RDB-C looks like a great concept. If Ruger or another quality (but still budget-friendly) manufacturer can figure out a way to make an affordable bullpup Grendel bolt-action or semi-auto (is lever-action possible?! Cool) with a decent trigger, it's going to take off like crazy.

I agree, as did K&M Arms, previously:

A long-time Bullpup enthusiast, I see a lightweight 6.5mm Grendel Bullpup as the cat's meow.

Does the 556 take a standard AR barrel/extension and bcg? if so maybe one of these could be backfitted to a Grendel.
The Skunkworks guys wonder...

I don't know on the barrel but it's a definite no on the bcg. Otherwise it would be about the same length as an ar with the stock collapsed. It also ejects down and out the back of the butt of the rifle. An ar BCG would have to travel inside of the shooters body to pull that off. It may be an ar bolt though.

A ray of hope

To update: I today came across a recent article on the Faxon Firearms ARAK-21 (Review: Faxon Firearms ARAK-21), wherein, the author reports that the 6.5mm Grendel chambering is still in the works ---

Was thinking about waiting for an RDB in 6.5 grendel but figured I may be waiting a long time (or forever) so I picked one up in 5.56.

Amazing how equal it is with a 17.3" 5.56 barrel to a 10.5" 6.5 grendel AR - basically the same size and similar overall performance. The AR is a touch lighter with a better trigger and has more accuracy potential, the rdb shoots flatter and has more factory ammo options.

Wish the RDB had a better free floated hand guard, as the stock one feels cheap and flimsy and seems to hurt accuracy if you're not careful in how you rest it. I have at least 500 rds through mine with no malfunctions other than the ones induced by under gassing while adjusting the gas block (mine seems pretty sensitive to gas settings but once dialed in for a specific ammo or silencer it runs great). Won't ever replace my ARs but is an interesting gun and a worthwhile purchase IMO.

16" 6.5 10.5" 6.5 17" 5.56 RDB...
