I have a 6.5 Grendel with the 12.7” group buy barrel. Great piece of gear. I am looking for a recommendation for a muzzle device. I’ve seen the KX3. I get the impression that it, like the KAK device, simply directs the blast forward.
I am looking to put an ATN optic on it for night time pigging so flash redux is good for Follow-up shots. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Kinda like the look and cost of a MI .30 blast diverter (linear comp)... Yes these all jus send it downrange.

If you ever plan on getting a suppressor then buy their muzzle device. If not this goes on sale around most holidays and 4th of July (Merica) is coming up soon.

For a barrel shorter than 13" I'd get a linear. Short barrels are noisy and these things channel the blast and noise forward. It's a mild calibre so a braking the recoil is not critical.

If quick follow up and flash reduction is priority, best be looking for a flash suppressor. They call the KX3 the Flaming Pig for a reason and that goes for the majority of the linear type muzzle devices.

After reviewing the data here and speaking with some people, I went with the KAW Valley linear comp. When I go after a pig and use thermal, Ill just slap on an A2 birdcage. Thanks for the feedback.

Schuyler Arms is G2G. I bought a 6.5 Gamma and a 5.56 Epsilon for ~$40 each during one of the holiday sales last year. Gamma is the pure Brake. Epsilon is built the same, plus Flash Hiding Tines on the end.

I really like my KAWs. I have them on 18 and 20" rifles but they do project the muzzle blast down range. Have not shot them in low light or darkness so I don't know about how the muzzle flash is.

I like the Strike Ind. J-Comp 2...its a combo brake/flash hider & is small/lightweight. Under $40 bucks to boot.

The KAW works great. Definitely pushes the sound forward and reduces what little muzzle flip the 12.7 had. Absolutely worth the small price.

I actually think the KAW helped increase the accuracy of my 20" BCA barrel over the birdcage it had before. It may have something to it's length and weight and the harmonics of the barrel. It really does project the blast down range.
