You basiclaly stole that upper. They're normally twice that price, plus you got 140rds of Hornady ammo.

The carbon fiber handguard is pretty light, even the older one you have.

It was a buy it now on Gunbroker, so basically I was the first one wanting to buy that jumped on it. I did hesitate and miss the Larue trigger sale.

I have to work today at 5PM but thought I would stop at the range to try the Overwatch. After 6 sighting in shots at 50 yds where I forgot mils were not minutes of angle, I loaded 5 in the magazine and shot them then went home. This was with steel cased Wolf ammo. Looks like 1 MOA.
I believe the biggest difference is the 2.5lb trigger I got yesterday. The milspec trigger is TERRIBLE.

The old jeans are my guncase. If the neighbors ask what I am doing. "Just taking out the laundry".
They are also my shooting rest on two 2x4s.

I was searching for extractor photos for another thread and ran across this post.
I did not know how bad Wolf steel ammo shot at this point in my AR journey.
I have never shot Wolf as good as this since (see photo above). I then remembered a few recent threads where newbies said how good Wolf steel shot.
Any comments, Sticks?

Hard call. I have not shot Wolf factory ammo since mid 2017, and those were a mix of two lots (two different powders). I know the bulk of it was the current blend.

Now that a new shipment has come in, someone needs to check the bullet dia to see if they are still .262". If the Dia has increased, that in turn should increase accuracy.

Bear in mind that my supply shot 1.5 +/- .25. not horrible by a lot of peoples standards, but I was shooting Hornady Black at .4 +/- .25, so that is a significant difference in grouping that makes the Wolf look like crap when placed side by side.

I never shot Wolf past 100 yards, so down range may or may not have stayed consistent. Hard to imagine a 2 part core being balanced at the RPM they run at and stay consistent POI at longer flight times.

That last target is at 50 yds so basically a little less than 2 MOA which is what you found.
The Wolf I have shot since with other barrels has been much worse than this.

You found a great bargain! I have the 20" version, it was $ 857- 10 years ago!

On 10 round P mag, if you want , I can tweak it to run 5 easily.

Your upper always needs a nice trigger.

Kroil, is the product used to soak the Permatex to soften it,, small amounts to soak into the crevices. takes 2 days.

If I were you, just shoot it till the bbl. is shot out.

After 950 rounds through my 20", it's still a tack driver. It stays in the safe, no shots through it since 2012.

Saving it for future longer range hunts.

I am not taking mine apart so no use for Kroil.
