Contacted Classic Firearms about my short throated BCA barrel, I bought from them.
They in turned contacted BCA, and they contacted me.
I explained the short throat issue, and they provided a return label.
They seem to be low on barrels, and gave me a choice of 3. I picked a "like" barrel. By like, I mean, another 18", 1:8 twist, nitrided, straight fluted, hb.
My returned barrel was 5r, this is not.
I received an email this morning, informing me, that my replacement barrel shipped this morning !
Now to screw it all back together again, and be back in the saddle !
Thank you BCA. You have a customer for life.
Now, I'm just hoping it was checked, and all is good !!

Kudos to them for the response and turn-around, but you might want to stay "from Missouri" until you can check the chamber and test it under fire... do you have a chamber OAL gauge (like Hornady makes)? good investment.

Yes, I have.
Before I go screwing it back together, I'll clean it, and measure out the bullets I have on hand.
I have a 223 wylde barrel from them, that shoots extremely well, so I was surprised, that my Grendel barrel wasn't up to par.

I originally purchased 2 barrels from classic last year. Im glad i had to wait fir other parts because the one developed prettt heavy white corrosion between the barrel threads and extension even around the pin and inside the collar. They replaced it quickly with the exact same spec. Barrel. After sevral more months of storage i pulled them both out to inspect them. Again second barrel has white corrosion. Coukd believe it. This time they said they were out of the same barrels. I asked if they had a similar one with same specs but like fluting or some minor difference. I was told they were in production. Waited a week or two then got a email with a shipping notification. Sure enough semt me another barrel with fluting before i even sent in the old one. Maybe because they kniw they first one was legit? Idk.. Ive had to send back three barrels but their customer service IS very good.
Now you git me wondering about if mines 5R. I need 5R to match my other one. And about the short chamber issue. I just ordered 4 more ALG V0's so ill be assembling them ASAP. I always check the head space and ill try and update if theres any news.

Bingo!! My third one from them was still not completely SAAMI spec (all problems are in the throats), but I found at least one load that will shoot under an inch @ 100 right now and still experimenting when the weather will allow.

Was able to put my new barrel on 5 minutes ago.
Cleaned it, ( a bit of oil inside), and did a coal with a 123 gr. sst. Came out at 2.311.
Did a 120 gr. bt next. 2.303.
Everything screwed back together again perfectly.
Thank you BCA.
Now to get loading, and testing the loads.

Wish mine would have allowed factory fodder. Not that I will probably ever fire any factory, but if I wanted to part with it ...

You have the first positive customer service I read with BCA. I read a few nightmare with their 7.62x39 uppers and barrels. All with the same issue.
I'm glad they got their act togethers.

I had the same problem with the 20" melonite 6.5 barrel about a month ago and emailed the owner, and about a week later I had a new 20" ss 6.5 Grendel barrel in my hands.
I didn't even have to send in the short throat barrel I had, they just shipped a new one.

This is already the third one. It will not go back. I am done dealing with them. I will never be able to shoot factory from it, but I never shoot factory anyway. I am under an inch with one load right now and still experimenting.
Just sad that it is three in a row with throat issues. Will probably end up replacing the barrel eventually anyway.

Much-o better. Post the shooting results... yeah haven't seen many times that BCA comes thru but glad they did for you.

Glad mine was a keeper. 20" heavy fluted nitride. I have many .223 Bear Creek bbl's from them as do many of my friends. All have been perfect. But I have read the horror storys and believe them. Glad things are going smoother for those with problems.

Like I said it good to see they got their head back in the game. We don't need another junk dealer sell part there are already to many flie by nighter sell at parts.
But be aware on ebay.

Close, but no cigar.
I broke down and got a box of Hornady Black to see how they chambered in this third upper. Takes a light mortar to pop it back out of the chamber. 123 ELD Hornday Black factory sticks in the throat and leaves a scuff ring around the ogive, but no rifling marks. I still believe that it is all due to BCA using worn reamers or reamers not to SAAMI spec to begin with.
I keep hearing how nobody has any problems with BCA until they get a Grendel from them. That tells me it is all in the reamers that they are using and not necessarily just their product overall.

This is your third one, correct? That is ridiculous. How can they say they test fire them if a factory round won't function correctly in it?

Glad to read you have a good barrel now. Hope it shoots for ya!
I was able to fire my 20" sts fluted HB BCA Grendel barrel yesterday for the first time. (Just about 20 rnds of 123 & 95G Hornadys.)
I was concerned as the very first thing I did with my barrel was drop a loaded bullet into the chamber and when inverted...it did not fall out. :eek: But it was oil, not a bullet into the rifling... I ran a patch down and to my surprise I had powder residue. I ran 4-5 patches with solvent then a brush then two dry patches before It was coming clean. SO at the very least tis one was test fired.
Yesterday, I loaded it up and test fired... one round and altho it ejected, it didn't pick up a new cartridge... I repeated this three times. I swapped lowers, with my 25/45 and it ran fine. I checked and somehow used the wrong main spring. 
I did not measure the chamber, but 123 A-max and 95g SST's seated to 2.257 do not tough anything. Because of the MS issue I never really shot for accuracy, But the 123's produced single ragged hole and the 95g would touch holes at 50 yards.

I believe that is why they are test firing with the 100 steel Wolf. It looks like it would slip in without interfering much with a short throat and the steel case wouldn't show much in the department of pressure issues caused by the short throats. Just my thoughts though.
