I got the email the other day/late last week. Its a BCA barrel, a free radical Arms BCG W/ GII head and a 1/2 priced upper from Anderson. Not exactly top shelf parts, but many have had good luck, It kinda stuck in my mind.

Last night I picked up some past due funds, well... I spent some of them! :p I have a nice hand guard, couple gas blocks and tubes in the locker already. I was already building a lower, just waiting on the actual lower to be shipped form the mfg. So it looks like shortly I'll have another Grendel.
I would have preferred a 18" bbl, but I have a full weight 20" in .257 that isn't aweful for weight. So this 20" with a .264 bore and fluting will be lighter even if only slightly.

Well, at least you got a bcg and upper for $200. Hope you get lucky with the barrel, cw.
As for the 100% inspection... that is bunk or I would not have gotten the ones with the short throats!!

The weight of my BCA 20" (straight flutes) is just over 49 ounces. These are the heaviest barrels I've seen because they don't taper; almost 1" in diameter from the breech to gas block.

I really want to like their products.
Their 24 inch barrel is sexy, want to do a build with it but they get some bad reviews.
They work hard to make it right from what I can tell, but at the end of the day I just can't see myself fighting a less then par barrel.
Seems they need to do some work on their qc, it might raise the price some but it would also cut down on the amount of barrels that they seem to have to be fixing.

Seems that most have good luck with their ss barrels. And the nice thing is that it would take a simple throat reamer to fix the usual short throat issues. Not so with the melonite hard coating.

Looking forward to the build.
Dug threw my parts today. I have a gas block. Rifle gas tube, charging handle, door & rod W/ clips and a forward assist assembly.
I also found a set of P-Rings and a Simmons Whitail classic scope.
Should have barrel BCG & stripped upper Monday.

I bought the bolt and barrel. I thought at that price why not. I've been wanting a Grendel for awhile now and decided to take the plunge for $150. I already had everything but the barrel and bolt. Hoping it's not going to turn out to be a hassle.

I have a 24'' straight fluted barrel from BCA and it works fine for me.
I am a big guy so the weight of it doesn't bother me.

Really looking for ward to this build.
Tracking says I'll have it today... I am doubtful as yesterday it was in Texas... CT is a long way form Texas for one days travel... We will see! I totally spaced, when I ordered the upper... It dosen't say "stripped" it said upper "assembly".... SO, I don't have a door or hinge pin... I ordered but is a few days out.
I did load up two ladders with BENCHMARK powder and a 123 & 95g Bullets.

If it says upper assembly it should be an assembled upper

Im hoping so!! I searched the site and all I can find is stripped. Nothing labled upper assembly. Its 20$ worth of parts retail.
But as my wife said, it could be a typo too...
Ill find out shortly. It should be here this week.
My trigger and hand guard arrived last night!
I went Velocity Trigger for this one. Looks very nice.

Guess I missed that one. I just found out last week that Primary is in Houston just 8 miles from my oldest sons house. I have been to visit 3 times and never knew this. Its #1 on my to do list when we visit again. Of course depending on traffic 8 miles in Houston could take 2 hours!

My parts arrived, I assembled and even shot 25 rounds yesterday!

I installed the wrong main Spring, so it would not cycle properly. but it shot fine.
