It seems really odd to me that we've had 3 new members sign up within a week or so, who all give high praise to cryo-treating barrels.
The subject has never been mentioned in months and suddenly three different new posters all give glowing, unsolicited reviews. Hmmmm.
None had anything to say about the Grendel, not one word. Seems like they only wanted to flood the forum with their opinions. To influence people. Hmmm.
Edit: Are you aware that there are companies that do this? You can pay them to send their people to sign up on forums to subtly (or overtly?) promote your business/service. And BTW, the russians are expert with this kind of thing...LOL!

It's a mystery why anyone would promote cryogenic treatment after machining. This kind of thing should be done before the barrel is drilled. If the cryogenic treatment is effective then there will be some conversion from austenite to martensite. The two compounds have different densities so the process is going to cause a change in the volume of the steel. That can cause problems if the blank has already been drilled. These guys should be marketing to the barrel makers, not to consumers.

Admin has been doing their unbiased part with due diligence.
If the most recent is truly former military, then fine. If it is a story for street cred, he should be flogged, as that is an insult to the men and women who are/have served.

I locked the cryo thread because it got out of control and was not worth trying to repair.
I will permanently ban anyone who I know to lie about his or her military record. I will permanently ban anyone who I find to be a wannabee.
I will not ban someone because they like cryo treatment. I will ban them if they become obnoxious jerks.
I will assist out of the forum those who think it is some sort of veterans chat room or some type of mental rehab center. They can either adapt to the Grendel forum and start talking about the issues discussed on the threads or they can leave, either on their own or with help from a mod.
