Pelican Case?

I am looking to by a quality case for Charlene. I know Pelican has a great reputation, but was wondering if anyone out there has an experience-based opinion that would point me somewhere else. Also, is there a particular model you prefer and does anyone affiliated with The Horde happen to be a retailer?

I bought a Pelican 1700 and it fits my needs perfectly. I currnetly carry my 16" Grendel with my 16" Beowulf+lower with scopes mounted on each in that case. It still has enough room for two clips for each gun with extra boxxed ammo and tools. I had to go for the smaller case due to trunk space limitations in my car the gun case fits with little room to spare.

Yeah, no thought of getting one on the cheap. Just would like to support those who support The Horde. I'm looking at it as insurance for both my rifle and especially my scope. I would like to stay below the "extra fee" size limit of 62 combined inches if possible ($100 bucks extra each way!).

According to my Calcs a 38" 1700 is 60.2 combined.. ok course that depends on the ticket agent doing the measuring

I love my pelican storm case. I prefer the storm series of cases over the standard pelican cases.

Pelicans are excellent for protection, waterproofing and lockable storage. I love peclican cases ...... but, they tend to be heavy. If you don't mind lugging it around.

The small pelican cases are one of the few containers you can actaully scuba dive with and won't leak.

I like the storm cases as well. I keep a look out for them on sale, and have purchased them from Optic Planet when they have significant sales on them, with no shipping charges. I have ordered two already without padding, and got padding on the last one.

i have a bunch of Pelican cases, love every one of them... but they are heavy. i bought most of them from cases4less but they changed the name or something or other and its now http://www.nalpak.com/ the prices are still pretty good.

My Grendel rides in a 1750. Still have room for more items but only carry what it really needs. Bought mine from Cabela's. Better prices are to be had but they were local and had it in stock.
